    Kenmore Elite Dryer
From time to time, I am able to select my drying selections, load size and all the settings but when I push START it only "clicks" and will not start. Then the next day, it is like it "resets" itself and works fine. There seems to be no reason when or why this occurs. Is there any reason why this occurs or how I can manually reset this to use my dryer. Thanks!

Unfortunately, there are many different designs of the "Elite" appliances. If you could supply a model number, I may be able to provide some assistance.

It is a Kenmoore Elite Total Care System with Even Heat, model number 11060094998. I select the cycle, time, etc. and hit START - - all systems are "lit" but upon hitting the START button, it just clicks. It works fine for days and days, but then it is like something "trips" or this is a safety issue and it will not work. Yet, it may turn right on tomorrow a.m. I always check the lint screen and know to ensure that it is level, etc. Thank you.

Well, my first question for you is... does it click once, or does it click repeatedly? This is a 27" Whirlpool dryer. There are a few reasons why these dryers won't start. Unfortunately, when one of these reasons comes along, it won't start...ever. The fact that sometimes yours starts and sometimes won't indicates to me that you may have either a loose wire somewhere or there is a problem with the control board. The control board (inside the control panel) basically controls all machine function. Once you push start, the control should close the motor and heater relays to make it run and heat. I do seem to remember having a problem similar to this once and it did need a new control. There is no "reset" besides unplugging the dryer. You might want to call a local servicer and pay a diagnostic charge to make sure before buying any parts. Good luck.
