I have a Kenmore electric deyer, model number 110. 86193100. When I set the knob and push the start button, nothing happens. I don't heart any humming, etc. The belt is not broken.

Did you check the door switch?

Did you check the 30 amp 2 pole breaker at the breaker box on the wall? It should be marked "dryer". If the breaker has tripped, move it to the off position, then back to the on position. Also, check the cord to the wall. If it has pulled out, shut breaker off first, then plug it in, then turn breaker back on. Should solve your problem unless the switch itself is bad.
