My Danby portable dishwasher is causing a leak from the base of my kitchen tap.Is there something I can do with the tap - like replace a washer or rubber ring inside it - to stop this...or is it something more complicated.Thank you.

You may be able to fix it by replacing the O-ring(s) at the base of the faucet spout;however, the spout is not designed to withstand much water pressure. The best way to fix the problem is to install Tee's or dual connectors on the water supply lines under the sink. You can even get ones that you can install quick connects to in case you need them.
