Hey NM.

They've got a shinier castle than before.

I have a hammock out back and enough korbel and OJ to keep us in mimosas until we pass out in the summer breeze.

nikosmom
Aug 4, 2009, 08:53 AM
Hey y'all... only checking in. I think I'm actually expected to work during the day. Sigh.

For breakfast, I had vanilla yogurt with strawberry slices and granola mixed in - why the heck do I have heartburn?

Aug 4, 2009, 08:59 AM
Does kp have beer?

kp2171
Aug 4, 2009, 09:06 AM
Several amber bock. A few newcastles. I'm sure there's a couple of bitters in the downstairs fridge, behind the bar, opposite the pool table and darts.

If you want dark there's a blues bar you'll have to come to... it has a small dance floor so it requires close dancing. The Guinness tap is golden. If it ever goes under, I'm stealing the tap line. I swear it the best.

If you like lighter... uh... well... there's a gas station a block away.

All this talk of Curly makes me want to eat some curly fries. .___.

Man, I wish I had some of them... yum... we used to have them in Singapore fast food joints, but not in Australia's fast food places... only one restaurant here I know has them...

No no.. Burning is not only "it".

I also have a tendency to make things explode.

My muffins somehow exploded and I can swear to you that I followed the recipe to the "T".

My cookies oozed everywhere it was more like a pie shell instead of separate little circles..

One time I made cupcakes they looked done, they also looked like little mountains [very pointy] and the inside was still uncooked..

Ahhh... baking. I am no Betty Crocker I tell you... and Martha's tips can suck it.

Oopps.

Yes and Yes guys.

It was great, had a workout although that certainly wasn't the initial plan... horseback riding, bicycling, walking (and walking), tours with horse driven carriages, some R & R, and oh yeah... shopping... we didn't miss a store. We had to buy extra luggage to bring the 'stuff' back...

Had dinner at the Grand Hotel, fabulous...

Tons of pics and movies...

But, it is really nice to be back, thanks for missing me.

EDIT::: oh yeah Muddy, we went to Mackinac Island for eight days.

Thanks hon, I just got back about an hour or so ago, 9 hours of driving and across tha Mackinac bridge. Five miles long and 199 feet above Lake Huron... everyone was going about 20 MPH... slow, very slow, that bridge sways in the wind it seems.

Thank you M, it's nice to be back, but honestly it was also nice to get away for a while to. Although Marta took this as a opportunity to excessively exorcise me... man she walked my but off.

There are about 15 shops there that make every kind of fudge fresh daily and we had to sample each shop... so she had me walking to get rid of the 'pleasure.'

Muddy, it was.

Google the Island House Hotel that is where we stayed and also the Grand Hotel... simply breath taking. Except for emergency vehicles, there are no motor vehicles on the Island. Only horses, carriages, etc it is amazing to wake in the morning to the hoof beats of the horses on the cobble streets... it is very Colonial and Victorian. The Island House was built in 1852 in all the grandeur possible for the time.

We had a great time and everyone was so friendly... I became a little suspicious (kidding). :D But of course, I am a good tipper.

I understand that it is amazing M

Sis in Law just got back from the Canyon, Vegas, Mt Rushmore, San Fran, and a few other places with pics, she took a bus trip for a week.. she said the only thing that she didn't like was that she only had a day at each location. She took the helicopter tour of the Canyon. She said that, that was one hell of an impressive hole in the ground... :)

Hey all!! I just noticed that the admin have been changing the 'layout' of the site.

1. The 'search box' is bigger and blue!
2. The 'Ask' and 'answer' buttons are now on the upper central part of the site.
3. The 'My Profile', 'Log Out' and 'Help' buttons are on the same line, on the upper right side of the site.

Seems I've got a peeve...

No not insulin Unky, I am a diabetic 1 so I am taking two shots a day of a medicine called Byetta which apparently stimulates me at a cellular level to process the sugar that I eat daily. However, I do not like taking any types of shots, but I have to and one side effect is that it deters your appetite so I have lost about 22 pounds in the last month, and Iam feeling better with the loss. :)

I know what your saying about "todays parents" I am one of them, but I agree 100%. I have an issue I will be battling at home. My son has a playhouse my husband built him. We keep the outer area clean of course, but inside is free game. The kids all think its cool to use markers and crayons on the walls. Well I am in there two nights ago and I see some really bad words on the walls. I know for a fact who did it and my son confirmed it. But, the issue is if I confront the kid she will run home and the mother will come over yelling at me that she did no wrong. If I confront the mother first she will laugh it off. I don't want to stop the kids from playing and there is no way my son is playing there. Since they are so busy with drugs and all... atleast when her girls are with me they are safe. But yet my parenting isn't good enough for them. I don't get it.

I wasn't opposed, I was referring to Bear originally.
But you have been a wonderful support also, no backing out now.
I have only had mine for about two weeks too.

Its not to bad. I didn't want people all up in my business. But now that I am in it the only business they know is what you put in there. I can handle that. I prefer to be private and I still can kind of be with it.

I've had mine for a while but I never use it.

I originally set it up to chat with my family in Germany, sadly only the one cousin is on it and we never chat on Facebook.

I gave up for a while after someone bought me and had a bidding war with my husband. This guy is someone I don't even know, lives in Hawaii, sent me a picture to try to lure me away from hubby. Not cool! Not cool at all. On the plus side, I found out that hubby is willing to spend 32 million fake dollars to keep me. ;)

Wait. Does that mean he owns me? NOT COOL! NOT COOL!

In the sense that it has 'of war' in the title :)

Gears of war is third person shooter, but both games do have A lot of gore

Looks more like Kill Zone, but I haven't seen Gears of War.
I do love Kill Zone and God of War though.
I can't wait for God of War III... UGH...
Now I am going to be thinking about it. Guess it's time to drag out one and two and beat them again.

Alty
Aug 5, 2009, 01:34 PM
War? Games? I'm so lost.

I play Wii, with my kids, it hurts. Bowling is a pain in the arm. Really!

We stick to mostly board games in this house. AMHD is about the only thing I do on the puter.

You all have lost me. :(

Nothing wrong with the wii alty, but its really frustrating when kids half your age beat you at bowling :(

Tell me about it. ;)

Yesterday we did the Wii fitness challenge. It determines your fitness age.

The first go around I got 51, the second try I got 42. I'm 38!

I need to get into shape. :(

It really is. The worst part is that it plays with you. At first it said that my fitness age was 22, then the 22 slid of the screen, the words "Just kidding" popped up and the 51 came up.

Not nice!

Way to make a girl feel like crap. :(

You have to try God of War, it is by far one of the best video games I have ever played. Puzzles, killing, great challenges and story lines. You can't be a gamer without playing it.

That's all right alty, I only get 20s or 30s scores on the wii bowling ;) ayla beats me every time and she is 5!

I agree justy. When I can pry hubby off it to let me have a turn I love it. I'm not very good at it though *blush*
