Yep, been there once.

Only Once? You not big on it?

I'm not really because I worked there for a couple of years but it seems like the only place that my whole family will eat.

No, I'm just busy.

I'm trying to figure out a way to keep Sneezy in med school. I appreciate your help Adam. Good ideas, sadly not feasible.

I need to win the lottery.

Six numbers, that's all it will take.

Okay guys, everyone pick a number, I'll play, pray and hope it works. :)

Alt, question, how high do the lottery numbers go in Canada? Because different lottos here have different ammount of numbers. I would like to know my options please!

It depends. I think the lotto is at $3 million right now. The thing about Canada, you don't pay tax on lotto winnings, you get it all.

That's cool, but I was talking about the choices.

Like, is it 1-45, is it 1-79, is it 1-150?
Do you pick six numbers, seven, eight?

What number is your choice?

adam_89
Aug 13, 2009, 12:47 PM
That would be sweet to get it all. They take over half of it here.

This one guy a couple months ago won 232 million and only brought home 88 million but hell I wouldn't complain.

So far you have 13, 8, 22.

What about your number?

Alty
Aug 13, 2009, 12:47 PM

It's 6/49. So 6 number ranging from 1 - 49.

My choice is 9. :)

HelpinHere
Aug 13, 2009, 12:49 PM
Ooh, okay.

Adam, they DO take more than half, if you choose lump sum. If you get payments, then they only take about 35%. (at least, in my state it is)

Now, the choices are 8, 9, 13, 22.
Two more, and let's try to shoot higher! We need some in the top half of the number bracket!

adam_89
Aug 13, 2009, 12:53 PM
How about 47 or we should let some people who haven't chosen it choose it.

I have another idea by the way Alty.

Oh and helping, I believe it is the same way here if you get it in one lump sum.

Well, I would want to get a fake ID so we can have a little fun.

Take a little vacation and some money and spend a weekend in vegas and win us some money to send to Sneezy.

I think it would be a good idea but unfortunately I am not 21 yet.

Every year my parents bought Snaps bonnen (sp?) they're liquor filled bean shaped chocolates. More liquor then chocolate. One of those suckers could knock you out.

Anyway, my mom always put them on a fancy plate on the coffee table when guests came over.

One time she forgot to put them away, our little 10 pound poodle ate the lot of them.

He was drunk as a skunk, couldn't even walk up the stairs. Also, the chocolate, not good. He had the "squirts" for a week after that.

Good news, he never went near them again.

Bad news, the squirts occurred on my parents brand new light gray carpet.

He almost died that week, not because of the chocolate, but because of the carpet. ;)

One of my first 'family' cooking experiences.
I made a roast with all the trimmings for the whole family.
We had a ball game for my brother that night, so we left the roast cooling on the table while we ran out to pick him up.
My 12 lb. Lhasapoo ate his own weight in roast. Twelve pounds!
I still don't understand how he did it and where he put it!

That dog was SO sick.
He was an indoor dog so I have no clue where he could have hidden any of it, but that plate did not have any pot roast on it.
He was a little dog we never even could figure out how he got to it!
Still loved him, he was a great dog.
The incident did not teach him anything about roast though...
He would still be begging on roast after.

My second dog (and you dog lovers are going to jump me for this one) would beg for food all the time. Well I am a big sushi fan and I finally found the one thing he wouldn't beg for... wasabi! So every meal I would keep wasabi next to me and if he tried begging I would put a wasabi covered chopstick in front of him. It actually made him wimper and hide... I won't even tell you about the day he actually licked it. :D

Sneezy will be going back to the States next Thursday. It's a no go, he talked to the Dean and everything. It's a big mess and they won't budge.

He just bought the gas station before a week before he left for med school. His parents are running it but they're having problems, so it probably for the best that he's going back home for a while, get things settled, get the gas station to the point where his parents can run it without him.

What makes the story even funnier is my partner is forced to volunteer as part of his management position, it is something the company does.

I didn't mean to let her in, but I did. Heck, I've let all of you in.

I just wish I could talk to her one last time. I miss her voice. I miss her humor. I miss her.

You know me Stringer. I have a really hard time letting people in, I have my reasons, you know them all. It just hurts that I lowered my wall, and now this.

She doesn't deserve this. We don't either.

Darn tears. My life is better because I knew her, but it would be much better if she lived. It's just not possible.

The only bright side, I've gotten to know her Aunt very well. She's just like Starby, but still, she's not Starby. No one is. No one ever will be.

Alty
Aug 14, 2009, 10:52 PM
I'm here.

HH, Stringer, thanks. :)

I am the rock. That's always been my role. When my parents were dying that was what I had to do, had to be. Everyone around me was falling apart, I couldn't, I had to hold the family together, comfort everyone, be the rock.

I broke down, but never in front of anyone. I broke down at home. Did I ever tell you that I almost gave up? I almost died with them. It was too much. Two people that I love more then anything, both dying, 6 months apart. It was just too much. All on my shoulders.

My son kept me alive. He's the reason I'm here.

I just have to wonder, how much pain can one person take? Why? I think I've had enough of it. Why more? I have to wonder, what did I do? Will it ever stop?

Boy, I'm a major downer tonight.

Really, I'm okay. I always am. I'm just, well, not okay too.

I think that you set yourself standards too high hon. I say again that talking about her is a good thing and we will remember her.

One thing that I remember about her is that she could get pi$$ed and let you know it, but it was funny. Too many times she let us take advantage of her in a comic way. But she liked the role that she played on here and I think that we all helped each other have some good fun.

The sad part is like I mentioned once before, it seems that things have changed somewhat over the last few months. There was a closness that was unique.

Ooh shaz, you naughty girl, do you need someone to teach you a lesson about underage drinking?

And, lol, sorry but that source sucks. It looks like they just mixed random non-alcoholic drinks, and named it. I could go to my fridge now, pick three with my eyes closed, and probably make something you could find on that page. :p

Haha yeah... blame my mum or that, she let me have a few with her :o
It was better than sneaking off to parties and drinking though, at least she could limit my intake.

I just googled mocktail and posted the first link that came up :p

Very rough Adam. But fun too.

My poor little head is angry right now.

I have a kids birthday party to go to in 2 hours, just me and Sydney. I don't want to go. I don't feel good. My own fault though.

I should get ready though. At my age it takes a while to get pretty. ;)

Yes, the thing is that there's also the seasonal flu here (winter here), so, you can hardly tell whether one has got the first symptoms of the swine flu. Nearly everyone has got a cold. I do too, but I know it's not the swine flu. I just hope the two 'flus' don't get in me at the same time. That won't be much pretty to see... :(
