I am 46 and for the last 33 days I have been having a period not always heavy sometimes very light. The last two days have been heavy though, I have been to the doctor and had different tests in the past with no knowen cause. The doctor recently gave me a course of provera for 10 days 5mg, this only slowed down the bleed but did not stop it.

Has any one else experienced symptons like these. I just wish it would stop:mad:

You need to find another doctor and get there pronto. You could begin to experience iron deficient anemia if this is not brought under control. Please get a second opinion.

I experienced this once when I was on the pill. I was on for 6 months, heavy at first but then grew lighter. The doctors kept telling me to persist, but eventually I moved and another doctor told me the pill was not right for me, it was too weak and I needed something stronger.

I went through the same thing after having my daughter. She breastfed for 10 months and after she was weened, I started bleeding. I bled for almost 18 months before figuring out the cause. Like you, most often the bleeding would be light but there were days when I would bleed through a super absorbancy tampon in less than ten minutes, so badly that blood would run down my legs. It was horrible. Finally I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), which causes scar tissue and fibroids tumors on your ovaries, etc... I was put on Metformin and birth-control to help regulate. I would ask your doctor about PCOS, pronto!

Do you have bruising on your body? Do you feel dizzy? Not trying to scare you but my sisterl in law had aml a acute form of luekemia(spelling) and she had the bleeding and also the other symptom's that I mentioned. Her dr. was treating her for an inner ear infection... that he couldn't see, so she changed dr's and he found the AMl in 1998 she is now considered to be cured . :) good luck
