Hi,
I noticed a slow leak coming from the eve (sp?) that hangs over my deck last night and determined that it could only be caused by a break in the line that leads to the baseboard heating in the master bedroom above (that's the only water that goes to that part of the house).
In order to determine if that was 100% correct, I drained the water from the entire heating system (which I believe is 1/2 forced hot water and 1/2 steam).
This morning, the dripping had stopped.
Obviously, this is something we need to have fixed before we use the heat again in (say) October. However, it raised an interesting question that I have yet to ask in the 11 years we've lived in our house:
Is it better to drain the water from (or leave the water in) the system during the off season?
Sorry the lead-up to the question was so long...
Thanks!
