ActBlue is what they call a Political Action Committee non-profit. It was created in 2004 with the goal of soliciting and processing small donations for the Dems and their pet projects .

Both Evita and Clueless Joe used ActBlue in their campaigns

They are now in the crosshairs of House Oversight Committee chair James Comer.

“The Committee is concerned that failure to properly vet contributions made through online platforms may have allowed bad actors to more easily commit fraud to illegally exploit and violate federal campaign finance laws. These bad actors could include foreign nationals not lawfully admitted for permanent residence who are prohibited by statute from contributing to campaigns or political parties. They could also include individuals looking to flout the limits of individual contributions by fraudulently using others’ identities to evade those limits, in addition to other criminal activity in violation of campaign finance laws,” continued the lawmakers. “It is imperative that Congress determine whether legislation is necessary to ensure adherence to statutes related to campaign finance, and guard against foreign or unfair influence in our elections.”

Comer is said to be investigating more than 400 Treasury Department Suspicious Activity Reports (SARS) filed that flagged suspicious transactions involving ActBlue.

Outgoing Treasury Sec Janet Yellen has not taken any action.Comer indicated he has already made referrals to DOJ nominee Pam Bondi .

But wait ;it gets worse .

House Administration Committee Chair Bryan Steil, revealed that ActBlue may have been used Iran, Russia, Venezuela and China to route illegal donations to Dem campaigns through straw donations using foreign bought gift cards.

Foreign donations into an American campaign is illegal . It is telling that Dems would accept them from enemy nations. It is also telling that only now is ActBlue taking corrective actions to prevent this money laundering .

I'll ask the question that needs no answer . Did you hear about this in the compliant press ?

Thursday Trump ordered the DOJ to investigate ActBlue for potential breaking of election finance law.

The Memorandum directs the Attorney General to investigate and take appropriate action concerning allegations regarding the use of online fundraising platforms to make “straw” or “dummy” contributions and to make foreign contributions to U.S. political candidates and committees, all of which break the law.
Specifically, the Memorandum notes that a congressional investigation revealed significant fraud schemes using ActBlue and, over a 30-day period during the 2024 election cycle, hundreds of ActBlue donations from foreign IP addresses using prepaid cards, despite it being illegal for foreign nationals to contribute to U.S. elections.
It instructs the Attorney General to report the results of the investigation to the President, through the Counsel to the President.

The Slimes take is that this is an attempt to cripple the Dem infrastructure.

Trump Directs Justice Dept. to Investigate ActBlue, Democrats’ Cash Engine - The New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/24/us/politics/trump-actblue-democrats.html)

Buried in the Slimes article is Scott Walker ;president of Capital Research Center, who insist that" the memorandum was about compliance with election law, and was not an effort to undermine Democrats’ electoral prospect” .

That did not stop the Slimes from fear mongering claiming that “across the Democratic Party” ... “any entity that has used ActBlue could soon find itself enmeshed in an investigation from a hostile Justice Department.”

Well if they were complicit in breaking the law they should be concerned.

A House Judiciary Committee report this month raises several concerns about ActBlue

In particular, the Committees’ investigation has uncovered evidence that ActBlue made policy changes in 2024 that resulted in more fraudulent donations on the platform. Twice—once in April and once in September—ActBlue changed its fraud-prevention standards to make them “more lenient.”3 ActBlue internally assessed that the April change alone led to between 14 and 28 additional fraudulent contributions each month.4 Internal documents also confirm that before implementing anti-fraud measures, including a requirement that users enter card verification values (CVVs) at the time of donation, ActBlue tested whether the new measures would hurt Democrat fundraising.5 Then, once ActBlue implemented anti-fraud measures, it attempted to hide the changes so that they did not spark discussions of fraud on the platform.6 Internal documents also show that ActBlue staff and executives fail to take the threat of fraud seriously. ActBlue employees regularly demonstrated an unfounded belief that bad actors were not seeking to fraudulently contribute to Democrat campaigns and causes.7 For example, ActBlue’s training guide for new fraud-prevention employees instructed them to “look for reasons to accept contributions,” rather than err on the side of flagging a suspicious donation.8

The period in question was after Clueless Joe resigned and Kam the Sham was raking in $$$ from donations. I have to admit ;using untraceable pre-paid cash cards to launder donations was pretty clever.

Last month the Slimes reported about chaos at ActBlue as the rats were abandoning a sinking ship.

ActBlue, the online fund-raising organization that powers Democratic candidates, has plunged into turmoil, with at least seven senior officials resigning late last month and a remaining lawyer suggesting he faced internal retaliation.......

The exodus has set off deep concerns about ActBlue’s future. Last week, two unions representing the group’s workers sent a blistering letter to ActBlue’s board of directors that listed the seven officials who had left. The letter described an “alarming pattern” of departures that was “eroding our confidence in the stability of the organization.”

ActBlue, the Democratic Fund-Raising Powerhouse, Faces Internal Chaos - The New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/05/us/politics/actblue-democrat-fundraising-resignations.html)

The letter from the union expressed particular worry about the departures of staff members who are experts on legal and compliance issues.“Those of us who work with our legal team in our day-to-day do not have clear direction on how to proceed with our work in their absence,” the unions wrote to the ActBlue board.
