Hi folks.

Im putting in a new bathroom. Had few questions.

1. I'm plumbing from 3rd story and tieing down to second floor. Putting in toilet shower/tub combo and vanity. Can I use single vent for all 3? The toilet will be close to the vertical drop down to second floor And the vanity and shower will be further from vertical drop. Do I put the vent up from the verticsl drop up through the roof? In this case woild 1 vent suffice?

Thanks

Yes, you can vent all 3 plumbing fixtures using one 2" vent. Depending which Code you work under - in my area of operation, every plumbing fixture has to have its own vent. We run them up the wall and/or into the ceiling. There, they can be combined in one 2" vent and run to the attic as one vent. In the attic this new vent can be combined with an existing plumbing vent 2" in diameter or larger. That way you don't have to cut a new hole in the roof.

Other plumbing Codes allow you to "wet vent" meaning not every plumbing fixture has to be vented individually. However, in this case, you will still end up with one 2" vent in the attic.

Hope that helps
