I receive ssi.. I received lawsuit money I didn't report.I recently married and we went to ss to change my name and add my husband. After reviewing my records they saw I cashed the check 2 years ago... I used the money to live. Ss has stopped my ssi and medicaid .I cannot work .my husband isn't working... can I fight this? I really didn't know it would be a problem

No, you can't fight it, and you were expected to read the SSI/Medicaid application, which tells you to report ALL income. You may even have future problems with the IRS, and with SS wanting 2 years of SSI back.
However, you still qualify for Medicaid. I don't know if you still have it and don't know it, or if someone made a mistake, or if they stopped it on purpose for a reason I am not aware of. Eventually you should be able to get them both again, but they will deprive you of the amount more or less equal to the amount you received from the lawsuit. It's possible that is what they are doing now, and you aren't 'stopped' so much as on hold while SSI/Medicaid is paid back. Keep in mind that SSI and Medicaid is taxpayer money, and the taxpayer is struggling too, and more and more resentful of footing the bill. Saying you spent the money to live just doesn't help the matter.
