A body starting from rest moves with uniform acceleration of 10m/s2 in the first 5 sec. During the next 10 sec. it moves with uniform velocity . What is the total distance covered by the body?

to get Vfinal of the first 5 sec. use V = a * t
then we get Vf = 50 m/sec

and use (Vf) ^2 - (Vi)^2 = 2 * a * d
we get 2500 - 0 = 2 * 10 * d
and d = 125 m     or simply could have reached this result with d = 0.5 * a * (t)^2

this is the uniform velocity value of the next 10 sec (50 m/sec)

V = d / t  we get d = 50 * 10 = 500 m

so total distance is 625 m
