Hi
I have a quick question.. Let me start by saying I am very nervous when it comes to health stuff. I am 30 years old and have gone for my paps every year and I always insist on doing a colposcopy at the same time just so "in case" the pap is abnormal the colpo has already been done. I usually do 2 paps as well because I know they have a high false positive rate. I have no history of cancer and no one in my close family has breast/ cervical cancer. All of my paps and colpos have always been normal. I had one HPV pap that was positive a few years ago and one that was negative done on the same day. All HPV tests have been negative ever since .
Yesterday I’m at my obgyn and she was doing a pap and colpo because I insisted, and she says OK. When she started doing the pap/colpo , she said I see a small low grade abnormality and I;m going to take a biopsy. At this point, I almost had a heart attack. She knows I'm very nervous and was going to do the biopsy anyway so I wish she had not said anything. I had an appointment with my other obgyn later that day (like I said I always do the test twice because I'm neurotic) and he said he didn’t see any abnormality or abnormal tissues. He said obviously you will know once her colpo comes back but she may have just seen scar tissue since you have A LOT of scars from past colpos and thought it looked abnormal.
Is that possible? Im not a dr so I wouldn’t know scar tissue from abnormal cells or even normal cells. Could she have just seen scarring and thought it looked “abnormal”
Please advise.. I totally won't sleep until I get the results.
