I am 28 both kids of mine passed away before birth. I have to god kids one that is 10 and one that is 10 months. The one that is 10 months stays wit me 4 to 5 times out the week. I provide everything for him so his Mom is pregnant and wants me to have full custody. I want the baby more then anything I have took her to all her appts. I got to keep the ultrasound pics she's 16 weeks today. I have talk to lawyers did research online and I just want to do it the easiest way possible. I don't have much money but I want to be on birth certificate she doesn't want to sign it so there's no question when baby gets older. Please help me do what's right so I can love this baby and no that its going to be mine without the hassle. Any help please.

Hello girl:
Unless you're married, it's VERY hard to adopt.

Hello again, r;
That's the same thing.
Look. You'll NEVER do it through the courts.. But, there's NOTHING illegal about you taking care of the child every day, and all day, forever. The mom will STILL have to sign for him, and you'll FORGO child support.. But, that'll work.

Hello r:
I think it'll be HARD & EXPENSIVE IF you can do it at all... But, I'd visit a family lawyer for your state and see what he thinks.. He won't charge you for an initial consultation..

You signing the birth certificate isn't going to happen. It's FRAUD, and the hospital won't let you commit it.
What you are wanting to do is adopt the child, and that isn't going to happen without BOTH parents allowing it, and the STATE you live in allowing it.
Full custody--you want legal custody, you STILL have to go through the courts. You STILL will probably need permission from BOTH parents.
Babies are not puppies. You cannot just hand them around however the heck you want because it's convenient. You need a lawyer, and you need to go through the courts, and you need to go through the "hassle".
The "hassle" should be WORTH it to have a child of your own. The expense and the time spent getting the "hassle" taken care of is kind of what proves to the state that you are committed to the child.
Get a lawyer. You are going to need one.
And get your friend in counseling. Even if she is going into an adoption situation with eyes wide open, she is still going to grieve for her "lost" child, she is still going to be upset, and she is still going to have to work through a lot of issues, even if she THINKS she wants nothing to do with the child.
