I want to know if I can sue this company for more than what they have taken from me. I paid online for a games in game currency $10. The in game currency never came it was a glitch or something so I sent their customer service an email. They told me to send them a screenshot of the receipt I did and they said they couldn't see it. Made a closer screenshot and they said the file size was too big. Forwarded the whole receipt and they said they need a screenshot. I've had this happen before on the same game and it was never a problem and was resolved in a day. This however has taken a month of everyday back and forth. So what I want to know is can I sue them for way more than $10. Since they won't give me a refund to my card and I still don't have in game currency. Also it has been a month of hassle, I can't call them because they keep their phone number from the general public. Also they have no terms of service. They are a hong kong company however they have a us branch. They won't let me speak to a manager and apologize and procrastinate. Also they don't release address so is their a way to report them? I'm guessing to small claims office and they will track their ip address?

Hello C:
I'm guessing to small claims office and they will track their ip address?

Nahhh... They do the court stuff, and YOU do the investigative stuff. If you don't have an address with which to serve the papers, THEY ain't going to help.

Ok but if I get the address for them can I sue them for a lot? I'm pretty sure they are in violation of a lot of laws. No terms of service poor customer service stolen funds and time invested into it?

Hello again, C:
Nahh.. It appears that you're out only PRETEND money, and you can't sue to recover that.

I'm not out of pretend money. There are no terms of service claiming in money cannot be refunded. I used my bank card to purchase the in game funds. Its like purchasing goods from an online store, they don't deliver then I can get a refund. It's not that they can't refund me it's that they Won't

Hello again, C:
Bummer. Next time don't do business with companies that HIDE who and where they are, who don't have terms of service, and who don't have telephone numbers.
At least you're only out $10.

Thx but it doesn't really answer my question. I just need to know if I can sue for more than $10 because of their violations.

Hello again, C:
In this great country of ours, you can sue anybody, for anything, and for any amount... But, without an address with which to SERVE the papers, I don't see why you're still interested.

You CANNOT sue for more than your actual lose.

If you go through small claims generally you can only sue for actual losses. If you go through civil court it will cost you much more than your loss.

This is a risk of doing online business, often you will be cheated, Even if you sue them, and would win, it is doubtful they would ever pay, and you have little choice in collecting

Did you go to your credit card company about cancelling the charge?
