Dear Sir,

My question is, my father had two wives and I am born to the second mom, I have two elder brothers, one of my elder brothers son who is my nephew had married few years ago and now he had Divorce her saying Talq 3 times and also given in writing, I just wanted to know that is the Talaaq has happened, if so is it possible for me as a uncle to get married to that women.

Please let me know the right answer.

You may need to talk to your imam to find out if the rules of Talaaq have been followed and are official. There seems to be a little confusion as to how it is performed depending on the style of faith.

As far as the second part of your question from a legal standpoint the woman in question is not of your bloodline so in the U.S. you would be allowed to marry. Again please speak to your imam for his advice as Im not completely familiar with the situation as it relates to Islam.
