I am setting up a DSL internet service with ATT which requires a phone Jack but there's no phone service for a land line?

Other than the service and purchasing a router do I also need to arrange phone service to the jack?

No. You just need to have intact wiring at the jack for you to get DSL service. You are not required to have phone service.

No, the service has a "number" basically one for the DLS, you can't call on it or receive call on it, but you will be given an "account number" which is a phone number of the DSL service.
