I am pretty sure you are talking about the movie: The Last Supper (1995).
The first death is an accident, then they start inviting people who in their opinion, aren't worthy of living and should be killed. They are a bunch of university elitists who start believing they have a right to judge people's characters and they do bury the people under tomato plants. Please see this link for plot summary:

bumskt, why do you want to delete the question? Once they are answered you should just leave it alone. It might be a movie that someone else is interested in checking out when they see the posting. It is always nice to do something like that for someone else.:)
