View Full Version : HELP: How to dye my bleached hair back to brown?

Hi! I wanted to do a pink dip dye for the summer, and since my hair is naturally a darker brown, I got my mom to bleach my ends so the color would be more vibrant. She decided not to listen to me and bleached my ends almost up to my ear, claiming she wanted to do the "ombre" look. It looked good until I rinsed the bleach and had ORANGE ends.

To fix this, my mom bought a purple based toner and put in all in my hair (even the roots) and used 20 developer. This took out SOME of the orange and turned it more honey blonde, but since she covered my whole head in toner, ALL of my hair has been lightened, even to the roots! It's so ugly and I am so upset with it!

I am going to a professional place next Friday to dye it back to my original color, but I've heard that permanent color doesn't stay very well in bleached hair! Will it fade? Is this true? And if it fades, will it look awful? I'm so upset because I have to grow out ALL of my hair again. Also, will dying it back to brown damage it more? I had virgin hair to begin with.

Thanks!
