My child's father got out of prison back in April and we decided to pick up where we left off. Just recently we had a dispute about him not wanting me to be in the presence of men. So I told him fine, only cause I was trying to respect his feelings. Being funny, I said to him, well I think you should give me the same respect and not be around other women. Not expecting the response I got, this man said to me, oh its different with him cause he can protect himself when it comes to women but says he has to protect me against men. I feel that is an excuse so he can do what he wants. He broke up with me because I told him I would not be disrespectful to him and that I deserve my respect as well and I wouldn't be a dummy and subject myself to that kind of disrespect at all. I love him with all my heart but he doesn't like to compromise but wants you to compromise with him and make him happy and I won't live like that. We haven't talked in 3 days. What can I do?

Move on... unless you enjoy being controlled like an object rather than a person. This isn't Afghanistan after all.
