I have been having problems with dvds not working on clients dvd players when they work on mine. I have looked into it and it would seem some dvd players have problems with high bitrates, so I have made a new dvd with a VBR of between 4800 and 6000, so there is not much peaking and is pretty low, but now the old dvd player that I use to test (it works fine on my newer version) doesn't even try and play it, it just spits it out straight away. What am I doing wrong?? Anyone with any ideas would be welcomed...

Thanks
Steve J

Many DVD players are picky with the type of media it sees. As an example, I burned a DVD using Memorex and my Samsung wouldn't play it, but the Toshiba did. Burn the same DVD using TDK, and both Samsung and Toshiba played it no problems.

What I do is to author my DVDs to the hard drive creating the full DVD directory structure. Then I use Nero to burn it as a DVD-Video. It helps to that my burner supports on-the-fly booktype setting, so a DVD+R is seen as DVD-ROM to the player.
