Ok so a few weeks ago I had unprotected sex (i.e. no condom) with my boyfriend. I WAS however on the mini pill and also used a spermicidal film. No problems the week after that- no cramping or spotting.

This weekend however we had several nights of rough sex and after I woke up on Monday feeling slightly crampy. I noticed during the day that I had some spotting and after doing a cervical check that I had quite of bit of blood present. So far it has lasted 2 days.

My question is could this be implantation bleeding? What are the odds of getting pregnant while using both the mini pill and spermicidal films? Could this just be my period, brought on early because of the rough sex? Or just bleeding because of the rough sex? ( I am technically not supposed to get my period for another 8 days and I'm normally pretty regular)

Rough sex absolutely can cause some light bleeding. But it also could be implantation bleeding. Keep an eye on it to see if it gets heavier. If your period does not come, take a PG test.

How old are you?

Most likely this is cervical bleeding due to the rough sex. The cervix is highly vascular and when manipulated roughly tends to cause bleeding and/or spotting.

I am 28 years old and have really never had a scare - I am pretty on top of contraception and I truly thought that being on both the mini pill with the addition of spermicide would be OK.

What are the odds of getting pregnant while using both of them?

My worries are 1. I'm not looking to get pregnant out of wedlock (old fashioned, I know) and I am on medicine that could cause possible birth defects if I got pregnant.

How long do you have to wait before using the early PG testing kits OR how long before I doctor can tell if you are pregnant?

It's best to wait until a missed period to test. Testing is most accurate using first morning urine.

I got pregnant using both the pill and the condom correctly.

Remember that there is no form of birth control that is 100% effective aside from abstinence.

How long does implantation bleeding occur? This is the third day of light bleeding for me. I'm beginning to think that it is just a super light period, brought on early by the rough sex. I have a relatively short cycle (24 days) and since I was still a little over a week before my period was SUPPOSED to happen. Is it possible that my period is just lighter due to the very shot span in between.

I'm sorry for the multiple posts - I am just very anxious.

I haven't had any other symptoms - my breast are not tender, I have a little bit of cramping (feels like my period cramping) but other than that I feel fine.
