29 weeks pregnant and have been having what I do believe are little contractions since I was about 5 months pregnant. Now am 7 months asked my doctor at the time I was about 5 months pregnant and he said that it was just the baby moving but my stomach never hardened up at any of the visits. I do not feel anything in my back yet but it is my entire sac or shall I say my entire lower stomach where he is (the baby) that has been tightning hard as it can be especially when sitting up, bending over, etc. I'm only 29 weeks and am afraid I will have him way too soon! And if there is any more info around about premature labor and symptoms, please, please, add them! THANKS SO MUCH!

Relax! Your stress level is much too high, and you are over-thinking this. Calm down and let Nature take its course.

If you were to keep track of them, how often are they coming? Do they go away if you lie down or change your activity? Has the intensity remained pretty much the same or have they gradually gotten stronger?

It can be perfectly normal to be feeling some tightening at this stage. It can be perfectly normal not to feel any as well.

Your uterus contracts much of the way through pregnancy, you just don't usually feel anything until closer to the end. Think of these contractions, called Braxton Hicks, as practice contractions. These will usually subside, or go away, when you do something different, and they usually are pretty much the same from one to the next.

You can also press on your belly when you feel it tighten. Hard all over, likely a contraction... hard in one area, but soft elsewhere, likely baby's bottom or back pressing against you.

For the peace of mind, you can always call your doctor or midwife.

If I was you I would talk to the doctor more about how your showing unusual symptoms in such an early pregnancy. But I don't think you should be concerned, child birth is natural, your going to be a mother soon, and your baby is just showing signs that he is healthy and ready to come into the world. :-)
