I have an Absest tooth and the infection has spread to my throat, went to DR. and was prescribed Antibiotics (Penicillin) and the swelling has not went down after having taken it for 5 days now. The pain has gotten worse and it hurts to drink, eat, and talk. I need the infection to go away so I can have this tooth pulled. Any advice?

Call the Doctor and explain the problem. Your medication may be changed OR five days is not enough time to reduce the infection.

Unfortunately there is no quick, "magic" cure.

I'd suggest you go to emergency and have them take a look. You should have noticed the swelling starting to go down after 5 days.
