Is a one year house rental agreement still in force after living there for over four years and never signing a new rental agreement/

Real estate law depends on your state.
Lease renewals also depend on what is written in the original lease, so you need to read it.
If it is a standard lease form it probably conforms to state law, but if after you read it you still aren't sure, find it online or ask here.
Answer below where you are and what the situation is, including if you want to leave or stay.

Generally, the terms of the original lease remain in effect except for term and rental as long as the tenant occupies the premises.

So if the original lease had some specific clauses in it, those clauses do remain in effect.

And is there any automatic renewal clause, I have had contracts where they automatic renew if there is not written notice given 60 days prior, so what does your actual lease say about renewal ?

Next even if the lease itself expired, the lease normally turns into a month to month rental, where all of the terms except length of time you have to stay in the house still apply
