Rewrite tan in terms of sin and cos.  That will give you a fraction for the second term (with a sin^2 in the numerator).  Now add the two terms on the left side of the equation; you'll need to get a common denominator.  Now notice that you have sin^2 + cos^2 in the numerator.  What does that equal?
