We have a new home in which our Trane Heat Pump is not working. We have been told that our heat pump and furnace may not be campatable. We have a Trade XV95 Gas Furnace, and a 4TWX5 Heat Pump. Our home is approximately 3400 sq. ft. on two levels. We are concerned that they may replace the heat pump with a smaller one, as that would be easier than replacing the furnace with a larger one. Help! We want to ensure that our heat pump will maintain air conditioning throughout the hot summer months.

​Can anyone tell me whether a Lennox Heat Pump (Model # XP14-048-230-09) is compatible with a Trane Air Handler (Model # 2TEE3F49A1000AA)?

The heat pump is 4 tons and the air handler has a 4 ton blower. So you are good. The only other question is the size of the A coil.
