Hello, I have been colouring my hair for years, but always darker. I've decided to try blonde. On the advice of a friend I used a pre-lightener hen used a permanent sandy blonde on top and the colour came out ginger/auburn. I left it a day and used the pre-lightener again thinking this would turn the hair white/blonde (which is what I would like). Instead my roots are white (the correct colour) and the mid-end of my hair is bright orange. How can I fix this so that all the hair is the same colour? From the posts I've read I think I should use another pre-lightener (bleach) on the ends and this should work? Am I right? If so how long should I leave it on for? Thank you in advance!

No please dont use another hair lightener in your hair! You will end up bald! This is not a good idea at all, even a hair dresser won't but 3lighteners in your hair in the matter or a few days, you need to go to a good hairdressers and explain exactly what happened and how many lighteners you put in so far, ask can you at least put in a light semi permanent die that only last a couple of washed just to at least even it out for you and when your hair has had a break your hair dresser can do it the blonde you wish, I hope you take this advice and not put another lightener in :O good luck

I dye my hair regularly from dark to blonde then back to dark. Each time I would recommend going to the hair dressers first; just to get a few blonde streaks at first, then every couple of weeks go back for a few more. It is very easy to dye your hair from blonde to dark but a long process from dark to blonde.
You need to make sure that your hair is in very good condition as blonde dye is hard on your hair. I wouldn't recommend you to bleach your hair until it's white blonde, I did this recently and I managed to strip all of the colour pigment out of my hair, then, I decided to go a little darker and my hair turned green and grey. I now have very dark hair as the brown dyes wouldn't cover the bleached ends. If you do decide to go white/blonde, I would say just to dye your roots as you need to so as to avoid colour build-up on the ends.
But for now, go to your hair dressers and let them put a few streaks into your hair to break up the colour.
Good luck!
