We have recently had our foundation repaired with a jacking system. The toilet was never reconnected after a plumbing test and we have now purchased a new toilet for that bathroom. It appears that the drain under the toilet may be lower than it is suppose to be for the toilet to be installed. My first question is:
1. How far below the tile floor should the pipe end be"
And
2. How do I extend it if it is too low?

Thank you

The flange(wider part at top of pipe) should be about 1/4 inch under the tile, then use a rubber or preferably wax ring for toilets, set the toilet down on it, and lift it up again, if the wax is speading out a bit, you are OK, if the wax is completely flatened you are to high. If you are too low go to your local hardware store and get a flange extension kit, it comes with different thicknesses to accommodate the height you need, screw that into existing flange and your done...
