For the past two or three years, I've been dying my naturally dirty blonde hair a jet black, with almost dark blue tints, color. After all this time, I'm a little of sick of it and am now looking to sport 'intense dark auburn' hair, which is a little bit of a huge change for someone who is almost *known* for her long black hair in her tiny rural town.
The problem is - you guessed it! - how to actually go about getting my hair red without damaging it too much or spending a lot of money I, frankly, do not have. On the box of dye that I bought, it says it should work on up to 'darkest brown' hair so I've started using Dawn dish soap and anti-dandruff shampoos to hopefully fade my black dye a bit. It's working so far, but you can never really trust what a box of dye says anyway, so I was wondering if maybe a product like Color Oops or Lo'real ColorZap might work in my situation?
Any suggestions are welcome, besides using bleach. That is one thing I will never put my hair through. Otherwise, thank you for everything in advance :)
