I am having some problems with my roommate. I have only recently moved into this apartment with two other roomates. We signed a lease about two months ago. Recently the landlord said that there was a misunderstanding between with the broker and instead of having utilities including. We have to pay for everything. That is one issue he has re-drafted a new lease which I am obviously not going to sign. But besides there are two roomates who stay in one of the rooms and I have to say they are the worst. At first they merely argued and we would just talk to them about it. But after a while it would escalate into violent physical fights that often would result in some damage to the whole or furniture. There was an incident on Sunday where the girl's ex boyfriend came and knocked down the door and came I and dragged her out and even searched my room.Fortunately I was not there. This was a room that the landlord promised would have a lock on the door, I even bought the lock. But he still didn't put it in. I want to move out as this girl obviously has trouble surrounding her. The landlord has not brought the new lease for us to sign. My basic argument is that I was in danger in that environment and for that reason I am moving out and also the neighborhood is also bad. Any advice on how I should approach this will be appreciated

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

Forget the neighborhood argument, you knew the neighborhood when you moved in. Even the danger argument is off base if you knew the roommates beforehand.

However, the landlord is giving you an out. He is bound by the terms of the original lease. Tell him simply that you aren't going to go along with the changes but would be happy to move out within 30 days.
