The water in my kitchen flows though a single-stage water filter. I recently replaced the filter with a General Electric model FXULC filter (https://www.geapplianceparts.com/GEApplianceParts/Dispatcher?REQUEST=SPECPAGERESULTS&APPLIANCE_PART_NUMBER=FXULC), which is the same model as the filter I had in there before. There is a loud whooshing noise from the new filter when the kitchen sink is turned on and the water flow is very slow; with the old filter the flow was fine and there was no noise. I thought that maybe air had gotten into the pipes when I replaced the filter and that it would work its way out and the filter would work normally after a while, but it has been making the noise and had low flow for a couple of weeks now. Any idea how to fix this problem?

Hello DavidSta: First, remove aerator and run water w/o it. See if the noise continues. Then, wash / clean the aerator and reinstall it. Second, make sure the filter is installed properly and its volume valve open all the way. Furthermore, if you have braided water supply lines going to and from the filter - then make sure they are not kinked.
