I have a Grohe Shower faucet Model # 33619 stripped down to the cartridge which I cannot remove. There appears to be a white plastic insert washer holding the cartridge in. I e-mailed Grohe - they said that one can just pull out the cartridge. This clearly won't work. There must be some kind of retaining clip. What is the secret?

Does it look like this ? See the picture... If yes then there is a cartridge and a clip. See part # 6.1. If I am not mistaken that clip holds the cartridge in. There also may be a split washer set into a groove in and around the cartridge. If that's it than take skinny screwdriver ( or ice-pick ) and easily lift it up to release the cartridge

Hi Milo,
I'm currently having the same problem with my Euromix Grohe valve. I have it down to the cartridge, and I've already removed the clip and the washer, but it still will not budge. It just turns in place. Any more suggestions on how to get this out? We are at a standstill here, and are really hoping that we don't need to call a plumber.
Thanks!

Take large channel locks, grab the tip of the stem well - and pull straight out...
