We are currently installing a new modern toilet into our bathroom in the same position as the waste pipe (outlet). We have discovered that because the new toilet is a close couple toilet, in order for the back of it to go flush against the wall, cistern included, the waste pipe is sited too far forward. We need to connect the waste about 6 inches further back. The original toilet 1960's wasn't the close coupled variety and the waste connection is much too far forward. Is there an easy solution?

You have just told me that you have a 6" rough in bowl.

Please give us the make and model of your new toilet. Regards, Tom

Hi Tom,
The make is Ideal Standard. Can't think of the model till I get home! Could let you know tomorrow.
The toilet basin is very round rather than elliptical a very modern style.
Also I forgot to mention the existing waste pipe is clay coming up through the ground with an adjoining white pvc 90 degree connection.

IT IS Ideal Standard. Small plus collection.
