I am seventeen my mom kicked me out of the house two months ago and sent me to live with her boyfriend. Its not bad at all there and I don't get into trouble but I don't get to go anywhere I can't even visit my grandma and if I do its only for a couple of hours and he won't let me help her clean up a little bit. Can I legally move out of my moms boyfriends house without there consent? I really need to know.

You are a minor, so you cannot legally move out without your parents permission- you are under their authority.

You might be able to talk to Child Services and see about taking legal courses towards emancipation. Talk to your school guidance councilors if you are unsure how to get in touch with Child Services in your area.

Your mom can't just dump you on her boyfriend. He has no legal standing.

If mom refuses to care for you, then maybe you can move in with grandma. Or what about your father?

If you are already 17, by the time you can get emancipated, you would probably be 18.

Good point. I didn't think of that. Haha.

And where do you live, in a few US states you can move out at 17,

But moms boyfriend has no standing in caring for you
