Hello:
We find ourselves at a precipice in time that COULD define us for a generation. We are a nation faced with spending our assets on the health of our people, or a war. I don't think we'll do both.
Vote for which task you think the country WILL undertake. You can only vote once, and for one choice. Your vote is secret.

Vote for which task you think the country will undertake.OK, I'll take this statement literally and vote for what I think the country will undertake, not necessarily what I'd want the country to undertake.

And here I thought jobs was the concern du jour .
When the President comes back from begging China to not shut off the spigot ,he plans on one of them meaningless summits to address jobs.
I wonder if he'll dress up all the participants in hard hats?
Afghanistan... the President endorsed a major effort in that theater during the campaign last year .He reiterated his support for a counterinsurgency effort 4 moths ago. Then he has dithered when asked by his commander to provide the resources necessary to execute it. I believe he will give it a half hearted effort and then declare it a "victory " after he makes a grand bargain with the Taliban .
Health care takeover by the government is being shoved up our posterior no matter how loud the American people tell the Democrats we don't want it. When push comes to shove they will pull a Parlimentary stunt to get it passed .
They are willing to let the moderate Dems go under the bus as collateral damage because they take the Roosevelt strategery that once you peg a "benefit" to the tax system it is almost impossible to reverse it.

Excon,
Are Health Care Reform and the Afghan War the only two options? What about Crap on Trade? What about Nationalization of the economy? What about changing the makeup of the Supreme Court? What about decreasing the size of the military? What about unilateral nuclear disarmament? All of these are items on Obama's agenda, and all of them ought to be on the list above.

Why bother? I'm just pointing out that this one is somewhat skewed and not very realistic.

So you can't fish and cut bait at the same time. I think this story typifies the situation;
A man was out jogging in the forest one day when a frog called out to him and said, "If you kiss me I'll turn into a beautiful princess." He bent over, picked up the frog, and put it in his pocket.
The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will tell everyone how smart and brave you are and how you are my hero." The man took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it, and returned it to his pocket.
The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I'll stay with you for a year and do ANYTHING you want." Again the man took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it, and put it back into his pocket.
Finally the frog asked, "What's the matter? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess, that I'll stay with you for a year and do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me?"
The man replied, "Look, a talking frog is cool."
