I installed the ceiling fan about 4 years ago. We use a remote to control it. Recently, the fan is no longer turning on with the remote, but the light works with the same remote. As the fan is on a high ceiling, I need a tall ladder to get to it - so, I'm trying to find the answer or possible things to test for once, as it's a big deal to get to the fan itself. I would appreciate any ideas on next steps. I have been considering simply installing a hard wired control at the switch plate and not using the remote any longer - might this correct my problem?
