I'm not sure if I am posting this in the correct area, but I was wondering if someone could tell me what took the place of the old Soney walkman's. Is is an IPOD an MP3, or what? I wanted to start jogging but I don't really know what to buy these days so I can listen to music while I jog. Any help would be appreciated.

The sony Walkmans as you know played either cassettes or CDs.. now.. music is digitally transferred.. as a file.. so one takes the file from the internet.. to their computer.. and then finally "loads" it onto their player. The players are all called Mp3.. players.. as a rule.. An IPOD is Apples megastar.. a popular and considered best type of Mps player. I have a coby player.. basically the cost of an Ipod is pretty hefty. So it is up to you to pick what type of mps player you want.

Thank you capgirl for taking the time to reply. Well, I went out and paid the hefty cost for the IPOD touch. Normally they run $300 in my area, but I found it on sale for $200 so I picked it up. I love it by the way.
