I have a 1983 nighthawk 550. I kept it in a heated garage all winter and the battery was in my house. I let it run once during the winter for about 10 min and the took the battery back off. The next time I went to start it about a month and a half later it was turning over. I let off the start button and the next time I pushed it all the bike did was make a clicking sound. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Please help me!

If a clicking sound was prevalent then, your solenoid is working correctly. If it's the starter making the noise check the charge on the battery first.

And I just put a brand new battery that is charged up in and it still clicks.

Problem solved. It's the starter, I need a new one
