So I recently posted my story about my recent break up. I had been trying the NC since it happened about two weeks ago, but there was always something of hers that would show up as I began packing my things, etc.
I had been doing fine with just the occasional text, and she had been coming to get her things when she knew I wouldn't be home (my roommates let her in) so we hadn't seen each other face to face for awhile. I had recently found a hoodie that she said she wanted, so I texted to see what she wanted me to do with it. She texted back that she was upstairs, so I took it up and knocked on the door.
The girl that answered was a completely different person than the girl I had dated for the past year and eight months. She had her hair done up like I had never seen it, and was dressed in casual but still really sexy clothes. She had on make up, but it was just the right amount to set off her features. I had planned to hand her the hoodie, say "Good luck with your finals," smile, and walk away. I just said "hey" and stood there for a second. In that short second she reached over, grabbed the hoodie, and said "thanks" as she closed the door. I never even got to say anything to her, lol.
Ever since then the image has been burned into my brain. I finally went and deleted her from my phone, and my myspace (even though I don't check it that often). I told all my friends to help me by not letting me bring her up in conversation, and if I didn't listen to hang up on me. My point is, after all the time of healing and starting to get over her, that one image of her completely shot everything down.
Take my advice - do NOT ever break NC, for any reason! It hurts alot more to have all your progress shot down, and now I'm basically set back in my recovery process. I'll still get over her, but it's going to take longer now!
