If you use brewed coffee as a rinse, will it stain white hair brown and can it replace semi-permanent dyes?

Doubtful, it wouldn't be strong enough.

Actually, it's done commonly -- with mixed results.

Why use coffee? Why not use a temporary or semi-permanent color?

Actually, I do use a semi-permanent dye, but it's messy and I need to do it every 4 weeks. I thought I could use leftover coffee when I shampoo every other day. I have black hair and I thought the coffee could stain the white hair in my crown area, giving me a natural highlight. Is this silly or what?

White hair is very resistant and ican be hard to color. There is not anything you can use that will cover white hair except hair color. Sorry, but that's the truth!

Thank you for your reply. I quess it was wishful thinking. I'll stick to semi-permanent hair color.
