I have a 3 inch slab drain in a basement bath I am finishing. The 3" pipe is cut flush with the floor. I bought a spigot connection closet flange which fits into the 3" drain and has a epdm or rubber seal. My ring on the toilet will not fit into the mouth of the flange which is less than three because it is reduced to 2-1/2" or less. Is there a flange that is spigot by 3"sch40 so that my wax ring fits. Any help would be appreciated!

Does your closet ring have a plastic HORN on it? If it does take a pair of scissors and cut some of the plastic ring off the bottom of the wax ring OR purchase a wax ring WITHOUT the horn.

Let me know...

I do have the "horn" on the wax ring which I could cut. The horn is the exact id of the closet flange and the closet flange does not have a taper but a step on the inside. Does the wax ring face-seal to the closet flange to prevent the leaks?

Hi Chines...

I recommend purchasing a wax ring WITHOUT horn... ;)

The wax ring makes the seal with the face of the flange... not the inner "step"... that make sense?

Buy regular wax ring, set onto bottom of toilet BOWL and then set into place. Set down trying to keep bowl level as you press toilet down to floor with your body weight. Tighten bolts down snug... then wait five minutes and snug them down again (but be careful not to crack the john)... then cut bolts and install caps.

Let me know how you make out... ok?
