If someone had a felony back in 2002, and a company does a state or county background check, would a federal charge be on there?

Yes, yes it would.

Where I live (which is Kansas) I earned two DUIs (NOT felonies) one in 1986 and one in 1991. On a job application that I filled out in 2007 (21 and 17 years later), I checked NO to the question "have you ever been convicted of or finally abjudicated of a crimanal offense (no mention of felony, frankly it was not then, nor is it now, a felony). Long story short, the fact that I had been convicted of the DUIs held less weight than the fact that (in their eyes) I LIED on my application.

Be very careful. Tell the truth.

Yes, all of your convictions will show up, esp federal ones

Of course.

Hello cross:

One would think that a felony conviction would show up on a background search. In my experience, however, I haven't found that to be so.
