Chery has gone through all of the paperwork, and has finalized the deal for our new Island! :D She worked very hard, and got us a good deal!

She has spoken with the locals, and they have promised to be friendly to us! The Island is beautiful! It has everything your little heart desires! A sunny beach, an ocean breeze, sparkling waterfalls, palm trees blowing in the wind, Cabana boys and Native Girls to tend to our every need, Island music, and we can all just put our feet up, grab a tropical drink, and relax here on Magical Island! Come one come all! :D

Here are the pictures of Momma's Island!

Hmmm... very assuming and somewhat tacky... yep:):D:rolleyes:. Now why would you want to tick off the Sheriff who has handcuffs. AND would you trust what I would put in that drink?

Note to self: If this keeps up... need to build a jail...

MOMMA...........MOMMA.............she is in one of those moods ...AGAIN!!!

Alty
Nov 25, 2008, 01:19 PM
My dear Stringer, there is no Sheriff on this island, there isn't any need, all the natives are friendly, law abiding people, it simply isn't necessary to have law enforcement.

You see, now that you're out of a job I thought I'd offer you the position of cabana boy. I wouldn't want you to become lazy. ;)

So my dear, I'll have a pinacolada and don't forget that umbrella. Come now, pick up the pace, you don't want to get fired. :)

Stringer
Nov 25, 2008, 01:22 PM
I don't think so... I am heading to the mountains and will establish a rebel group to fight this insanity... you will be sorry, very sorry... We will strike at night and take all your goodies ha ha.

You have created a civil war... all you elite will be without all your luxuries... we will win, we are stronger... So now, you will have to learn to do for yourselves... finally.

Up with the PEOPLE!!!!

You have changed the purpose of Momma C's Island... now I will take all the cabana boys and the island girls to the mountains with me... (on second thought) maybe I will leave the cabana boys here... yep!

All you island girls........................."Follow ME!!!!!!!!!!"

Alty
Nov 25, 2008, 01:30 PM
Starby, we have a mutiny on our hands. We must alert Queen Chery. We must put a stop to this.

So far I think it's just Stringer, he's trying to start a war, but I've talked to the natives and they are a peace loving people, they will not fight, so Stringer is on his own.

Still, we should alert MommaC, I think Stringer may need a spanking and a time out. :)

Stringer
Nov 25, 2008, 01:37 PM
Momma... You know that I am a piece loving soul... I did not start this, but I surely will finish it.

There IS a paper trail Momma, just look and you will see that it is obvious who started it... YES and her initials are...........ALTY!

The plan is working perfectly... she thinks that it is only me... great... he world is about to be SHOOK!

Alty
Nov 25, 2008, 01:44 PM
Momma, that little devil of yours is planning a revolt, all because he got fired as the Sheriff. I tried to explain, we don't need a Sheriff on this peaceful island, I even gave him another job, but that wasn't good enough.

Now he's having a hissy fit and trying to start a war, but don't worry, I talked to the locals, they're just humoring him along, they won't fight, they are a peace loving people.

Maybe we should send Stringy to his room for a while, give him time to think about what he's done. Perhaps he should even go without dinner. I'll leave the punishment up to you Momma, after all, you know best. :)

I'll buy the locals a round of drinks, to make up for Stringy's bad behaviour. They aren't used to fighting, they're all a bit scared now. Don't worry, I'll get a dance party started and calm them all down. Sadly, we are minus a cabana boy, but I'll find someone to fill the position. M?

Stringer
Nov 25, 2008, 02:02 PM
Momma, I stand before you, completely stripped of my honor. I have been disgraced by one of the "elite" , ALTY. She is lying Momma, just read how she started all this.

In an attempt to unilaterally blame everything on this innocent soul. She has now created a rebel faction that will swoop down from the mountains upon them and bring equality to all these impoverished Island girls... (keep the cabana boys).

The movement is much greater than she even expects or imagines... we are busy preparing in force to right all the wrongs that have been done to us...

All slander Momma, she is devious, she wants to be a, a, a, a... politician, she, she...

As always,

Your MOSTEST:), I love you Momma.

I knew M would come through. :)

As for Stringer. Momma, he claims to love you, yet he's planning a war on your island. Is that love? I don't think so.

He could be head cabana boy, but no, he'd rather start a war. No worries, I called my army friends, they'll be here asap, we'll get this place under control.

As for Stringer, should I send him to the cave that we are using as a jail? Maybe some time behind bars will make him see the light. :)

Stringer
Nov 25, 2008, 04:18 PM
Momma, she needs to answer these questions:

Does she have a plan to completely take over the island?

Is she a subversive, says one thing and means another?

Is she trying to start trouble on this peaceful island?

AND... did you start this with Stringer to set him up?

AND, why don't you address the points... (no)

See, she is acting like a politician... all double speak, skirt around the issues... HA.

She is just being bad, she should be forced to answer all the questions... yep and you are the one to make her do it Momma. She should be following your GOOD example... and she is NOT.

She is the one that started all this... yessireeee HER.

Love you Momma... your MOSTEST, Stringer

:) :) :) for you Momma

Wow! you kids are fast. I have 40 some posts to read and catch up on now.

Fever is a little better. Glad you like the island - it surely impressed me a lot, with all those free jewels.
One stipulation though, the original inhabitants will keep the pirates away from us, there is no fear there... BUT we have to promise to keep all modern construction AWAY from the island. All modern technology we use must be underground, such as TV, Stereo, even the fully electrical kitchen has to be in a place where it does not deface the originality of the island one bit.
I find nothing wrong with that, as it will keep all others who want a part of it away... so only us and our skeletal neighbors who are kind and share the place with us.

So, after reading a little later on, I will naturally comment - just need a little more rest first.

C.U. later.

P.S. Our Magprob's ''Private Post'' will also be closed soon and I hope he comes and visits us. This place would be pretty empty without him... I hope he stays with us.

I think we should call your new pet SPIKE! That horn will keep some of the others in line! You can get him to poke someone in the butt when they are being bad! Achem... Stwingy for instance? :D

We should all fall asleep in our hammocks. Momma, can you "rock" us to sleep? All of our meals should be cooked over an open fire. We can take turns starting the fire with the rocks we collect, and we will put everything we've collected through the day into one huge pot, and let it cook over the hot rocks! We can gather branches and wood during the day, and we can carve our own instruments, and we can have an old fashioned karaoke party around the fire every night! Sound good?

Yeah...that wouldn't be nice, would it? Sorry, I guess my hormones are moaning today.....kind of testy.....(sorry again). But......wow......I never saw dancing like that.....

Working on a little film of the dancing natives. It's cute, now I just have to convert if from my handy to a Flashfilm small enough to upload to here.
You can't even hear the bones clash, just the music and watch them dance. One can really do the splits in the air too.
Alty has the link to the pictures I took on her first opening post.

I'm really glad you like my little isle... and Spike is a good name for my new pet, thanks.

Stringer, I don't think Marta wants you to use your lawnmower here, and neither do I. Those dancing girls took a long time making those cute skirts and the breezes on the island will do enough to give you guys a sneak treat now and then, so just be patient.

Hi SpyderZombie, welcome. I know what it's like to be worried about a sick Mom and babe, my Alexander is OK now, but his Mom is sick and so am I... therefore, we have to postpone our family Thanksgiving dinner which I was looking forward to. But the health of Alex and his Dad needs to be protected from us sickly girls. I told her to get a mask or wear a bandana at home so that the guys don't get sick too. I get to talk to them on the phone every evening but it's not enough - I just hate weak bodies and the stupid cold weather. So, I just might bring them to the island in a few days (I wish for real)...

Now, got a few more posts here to read before saying more.

Until later,

Starby, thanks for the special song!! You're the best!

What is this about the skeleton's Momma C? I know you have mentioned the inhabitants but I thought they had skin. Did I miss something? Wouldn't be the first time! LOL

SpyderZ, welcome to this wonderful family! Spydey, feeling better and little one also? Nasty bugs going around. My son's fam has been ill. We were there the weekend. Hope we don't miss "Thanksgiving" at our daughter's tomorrow or take them a bug. Feeling fine as of now.

Momma C, feel better soon. We need to find a way to chase that fever away and bring you and your fam to this Island for real (good dream to have)!! I wish I was under the waterfall today for real!

Unky, Starty and Guy, have a good day. I tend to miss when other's are on here... weird schedule lately.

HC, where you be??

Stringer and Angel, trust you are having a super day. I don't know about not having a sheriff or deputy Starby... that is so foreign to me but guess no crime, maybe?? Although, sounds like lots of mischief always abounds with this little happy troupe!

Alty, if you drink those drinks, you might not sleep for days. LOL Gives more time for mischief!

Hope I didn't miss anyone, if I did, my apologies, just feel I am in another world as one eye won't open at the present time, if it does for a second, I have double vision.

Happy Island Day to everyone!! Love and hugs!

Hi all! I'm soooo not having a good morning! Got awakened by a backhoe next door digging up the yard. They hit the side of my house with the hoe. The house is shaking, Niki's is barking and shaking... I've got a flippin headache already... and... Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!

I don't know what to do though! I can't get anyone's attn out there! They can't hit my house! They are shaking the whole foundation too! I can't believe that my neighbours wouldn't have warned me, and I don't even know where the property line is. I don't know if I should call the city, or what I should do. I called my mother... but she was too busy because they were on their way to pick up their boat! Hmmm! I called my brother... but of course there was no answer.

jrebel7
Nov 26, 2008, 09:52 AM
I doubt if a call to the city would do it but you have to start some where. At least maybe they can direct your call. I know your experience with police is about like mine but still, if there is damage to your house, call now so you can fill out a report and they can see what went on to add to the report while the backhoe is still there. Hope they respond faster than they usually do when you have needed them. Hang in there! Take photos of backhoe, damage to house, etc. Make sure you have company name doing the work... I'll check back in a bit. Stay safe.

Starby, you have to go to your neighbor's house and tell them. They hit your house! It could have caused structural damage, even if it doesn't look like it presently, it could later. Like cracks in your drywall, water leaks, drainage problems, etc.

Starbuck8???did you ever resolve that yard digging episode today?

I'm just Starby here hon! ;) They didn't stop from 7:30 this morn, until 5pm. No never got it solved. I called the city, and they sent over a goon, but said the "cats" were privately contraced... it wasn't the city. I have yet to talk to the neighbours, because there is a great big freakin hole in their yard, so I can't get to the door. Tried to go to the back, but no one answered. I now have a pile of dirt and cement, at least 15 foot high, and wide, right in front of my house! Not in front of theirs, but mine!. and barriers all over.

They did this obviously when I finally laid down for a nap to try and get rid of my headache, and the fact that they woke me up at stupid o'clock! I tried to talk to the backhoe driver and the neighbour, but they ignored me. The guy from the city said it wasn't their problem, but to call again tomorrow. I called by-law, and they went and talked to them, but didn't come and talk to me! I still don't know what the bloody heck is going on, or what they are doing!! So I'll have to spend most of tomorrow going through all of this crap AGAIN!

This whole day has been so pleasant! If I happen to disappear for awhile, you all will know I just wandered off onto the couch to close my eyes for a bit. Sooo tired!

Chery my dear, please put your hands over your ears for a moment.....

Hey guys, keeping in mind that it takes 3 to 4 weeks for cards and gifts to arrive to Chery in Germany from Canada, the States and Aussieland we might want to consider sending them real soon.

Chery is such a treasure to all of us here, I am sure that we all will want to make her Christmas as happy and beautiful as we can for our Momma C. She is a good and beautiful soul that appreciates anything she receives from her virtual and real friends here at her AMHD. I can see her face when she opens any cards or gifts that she will receive from her kids here. Now, we have all been a little bad and Momma has had to give us all some tough love occasionally but where are we ever going to find another Momma like Chery? She has shown her love for all of us here so many times, over and over. Now we have a chance to inundate her with all our love for her...

So please I know that we all want to make this happen, we will have to send them very soon as Christmas is just around the corner.....

Let's show how much we love her and say thanks for Chery being there for us.

Beautiful reminder Stringer. For some reason, I think I have a couple of months before the Holidays but they are just around the corner. Also, just reminded me that we don't tell people often enough how much they mean to us and that includes you Stringer.

All of you have been more to me than you could ever know and at an appropriate time, I will share why. Thank you to all of you.

How about a nice little joke and it is for real...

Good Luck, Mr Gorsky

When Apollo Mission Astronaut Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon, he not only gave his famous "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" statement but followed it by several remarks, usually common traffic between him, & the other astronauts and Mission Control.

Just before he re-entered the lander, however, he made the enigmatic remark, "Good luck Mr.Gorsky."

Many people at NASA thought it was a casual remark concerning some rival Soviet Cosmonaut. However, upon checking, there was no Gorsky in either the Russian or American space programs.

Over the years many people questioned Armstrong as to what the "Good luck Mr. Gorsky" statement meant, but Armstrong always just smiled.

Just a few years ago, (On July 5, 1995, in Tampa Bay, FL) while answering questions following a speech, a reporter brought up the 26 year old question to Armstrong. This time he finally responded.

Mr.Gorsky had finally passed away and so Neil Armstrong felt he could answer the question.

When he was a kid, he was playing baseball with a friend in the backyard. His friend hit a fly ball, which landed in the front of his neighbor's bedroom windows. His neighbors were Mr. & Mrs. Gorsky.

As he leaned down to pick up the ball, young Armstrong heard Mrs.Gorsky shouting at Mr. Gorsky: "That kind of sex! You want THAT kind of sex?! You'll get THAT kind of sex when the kid next door walks on the moon!"

Wow, look at all them there pages! Unfortunately, still have fever and chills, so got to protect my Alex and his parents for a few more days. It hardly ever goes the way we want when we look forward to something, that's just the way life is sometimes - and I'm sure all of you have had 'those days' also.

Going backwards to read them all, and have a few comments to make.

Stringer and Alty, - just love your joyful jokes and stories - you two are really fun to read.

And Rebbie, your post #130 - I know how my MOSTEST (Stringer) can be when he opens his heart and soul, I really do. He and Marta mean so much to me and we have become very close through our emails. The wonderful cards and other things they've sent me are so prescious and I can't wait to one day be surprised by a phone-call.

Stringer darling, closing my ears would not have stopped the tears in my eyes after reading your post #129!
I love you all just the way you are, and don't expect anything... just keep sending post cards so that Alexander winds up having the biggest collection from all over the world. That's all I dreamed of when I made my request. All of you wonderful 'kids' have enriched my life so darned much, that it's beyond words - and I send every one of you great big Virtual Hugs every time I read your posts here or on the other threads you started for me. I so appreciate all the warmth and loving - and your prayers - which have helped me stay strong and wrapped with such emotional warmth, which I admit, makes me cry tears of wonder and joy sometimes. I sincerely and humbly thank you all for this for the rest of my life!

Dear Spidy,, I may not live in the States, but my heart is always there. This country I live in is just a geographical mistake and has nothing at all to do with my loyalty and love. I wound up staying here because of my mother (a mistake), and now I'm here because my wonderful daughter is here with her family... But, otherwise if it were not for the good health insurance, I'd be over in Las Vegas with my brother in a minute.
As I said before, life does not always wind up the way we'd like, but we just have to make the best of it.
I sure hope you had help driving all that far.. having this flu can really bring you down, got it myself and it feels downright awefull! Hope you get better soon. As Friend said, you and Zach can be on at the same time, just open up two browsers, even the same type - no problem - just different logons. That's what they mean by 'multi-tasking'. I have Internet Explorer and Firefox open at the same time when needed. My smileys work on one, but not the other, so I have to switch between the two sometimes. That art from Tool is cool. There is a lot of talent there..

Starby honey, I hope you and Nicki survive all that noise and dirt out there right now. Get upset all you want and get some rest when they take a break. Just document what happened and try to take pictures, then sue the city Until then - Just close your eyes and come to our island as often as you can to relax a little my dear. Maybe we can all have a crab cook-out and enjoy the sunset on the beach.
Going to have to wait for my turkey until we are all over this flu.. but it will taste good, no matter what day it is, as long as it's with the whole family this year. Then, there's always Christmas dinner to look forward to.

Wow, Sneezy, I see you found the island. What do you think about all them jewels falling out of the sky? Nope, it not due to the medications you've been taking lately, honest - they are for real..

And Friend.. I just love what you do with graphics you post. What program are you using? I have PaintShopPro 9 and still have not discovered all of the power it has. Wearing shoes like that would at least make it easy for me to look people in the eye instead of getting a krink in my neck all the time, but with my current medications I don't think I'd be able to stand long...

KBC.. you have a happy turkey day too. Maybe we can come up with our own holiday with our skeletal friends here on the Island. We just have to come up with a proper name for it - and any religion is invited - no exceptions or exemptions here. I guess Grateful Multi-national Day would be a little too long, so some of you will have to come up with something better. As long as it's a happy and peaceful day, right?
And the world would be a boring place without music. I love all kinds at certain occasions. Just not into the ones where you cannot understand the words and shakes the cars miles down the road. I don't like Appalacian git-fiddle music much either - even though my Dad came from Hazzard, Kentucky.
So, a Gemini like you wanders around asking for 'input, input, input'.. I think they made a few movies about that subject. I too am always looking for new things to learn and do. My mind still works fine and is always out there looking. I think it better than letting it go to waste as with many in this world with blinders on..

OK, Rebbie... If you go to the album of pictures of the Island, click on them to enlarge, you'll see that our neighbors are dancing skeletons, and when they do dance, jewels fall from the sky. It took me a while to figure out this album a bit, but I think I got the crux of it. So, when you point your mouse at the picture, you can read a caption under it and also enlarge it. Try it out so that you can see the skeletons. If that does not work, let me know and I'll post a bigger picture of our neighbors... I really did not want to mess with anyone's mind here, and hope this explains it. I'm still working on the film to post. My flu has just got the better of me still, and it's the weekend already. So, when Alexander wakes up, I'll have to call him and tell him his Ama is still sick... darn it! Maybe tomorrow.. we'll see. Cross your fingers, please.

OK, I've gone back as far as I could to catch up, and phew! Am done. It sure is wonderful to see all of you having a great time here.

Just one thought... hope those 'girls' that came to visit don't come too often, it might not be good for Stringer... if you know me or Marta... we want to keep him alive a little longer, and it's not really good for his high blood pressure or the pressure from Marta if they show up more than once a year.

OK.. this has taught me not to stay away from you too long or I'll have a lot of reading - and writing - to catch up on.

Hope this didn't put any of you to sleep... speaking of sleep - yup, that's where I'm going again to work on getting rid of this stupid fever..

Oh, and there are enough hidden nooks and bays where we can all skinny dip - it's OK on this island. I just won't though because I don't like sand in all of my wrinkles...

C.U. beautiful people later...

I promise not to make them pics public honey... I respect privacy just as much as we all do. Besides, I confess that I forgot my camera as I didn't want any sand to get into it. I usually protect my camera and handy from damage as much as possible.

My handy worked! It is quad-band - my brother called me on it from his, but it's like 60 cents a minute. So he called me on my regular phone and it was only 7 cents a minute. It was just wonderful to hear from him again, I miss him so.

I too hope this flu thing gets gone soon, I want to at least see them for a while tomorrow. I hope that some chicken broth, lots of aspirin and orange juice help.. and then of course lots and lots of sleep, if my bones let me.

I bet you are adjusting your schedule to the construction workers - but I hope that they don't work on the weekend, so that you at least get some rest then. Don't forget good batteries for your flashlight when out at night.. don't want anyone falling into their mess.

Call me any time honey, I love your special little giggles!

Same here honey... and we can share our secret with Alty..
I totally enjoyed our conversation too! I bet if your phone did not go out on us, we'd still be talking - it was just so much fun and so much to share and laugh about. I enjoyed the heck out of hearing you giggle. After all the crap that's going on around you and the problems with your loved ones, it did me, AND YOU, some good to be able to be cheerful. I even forgot my frustration over not being able to be with my family due to the dumb flu.. As a matter of fact, Jaime called and asked if something was wrong with my phone because it was busy for so long. When I told her that I was talking to you and for how long, she was happy for me too. She is still sick and just wanted to let me know that she is frustrated over it all and that we'll get together just as soon as we are all better. Her cough sounded worse than mine, if you can imagine that.. Poor baby.

So, I hope all of you in the States enjoyed your turkey, I'm still waiting for mine... do any of you have any left-overs? I had calamari last night and it didn't do much for me all alone. Larry enjoyed his piece though. Gosh, talking about food is making me hungry, guess I'll see what's in the fridge and be back in a little while..

Not a bad idea, I'll have that for later. Just had toast with homemade pesto.. yummy!
I use that same amount of garlic, fresh basil and pine-seeds, then Virgin olive oil. It's strong and just great! I usually have to drink some milk shortly after to calm my tummy, but it's just so good. Good thing you cannot smell it right now though..

Tessa just came and got Niki for her walk. She's such a cute kid!

To me, it sounds like Nicki had a day just as wonderful as you did. Good for the both of you... and me too! I literally 'crashed' about an hour after I spoke to you and Jaime.

Would you believe that when my ex-sister-in-law first met me, she told me that I didn't sound at all like a German. Grrrrrr that irked the heck out of me. I wanted to tell her I felt more American than she ever would, dumb broad. I went to US Military (DOD) schools all over the world and she just parked her a$$ in L.A. county. So who do you think learned more? At least I never had to learn how to speak like a 'valley-girl', thank goodness.

I woke up and it was dark and Larry was keeping my ear warm. It is now 12:30 AM Sunday - just can't understand why the neighborhood is so quiet... There is still enough good stuff on cable TV and I'm not tired yet. So I get to catch up on some stuff I recorded, like Heroes, Smallville, and Stargate Atlantis - now that's what I call entertainment. If I cannot decide what to watch, I think I'll go into the Island Tavern and check out the music and dancing there tonight. Those neighbors of our's sure can do a jig very well - with all them bones.

Jaime is going to take me shopping sometime this week and I'll let you know first off once I found what I want to get you-know-who - I'm so excited about that too. Shhhh don't tell.

Alty honey, just wait a bit, you'll get your greenie - the trick is to post a good answer and let me find it, so send me a link and I just might be able to do something to help out. Can't promise anything though... hahaha.

So, going to find something to keep me busy for a while until it gets light outside. Sometimes I feel like I'm the local vampire with the hours that I keep.

We went out for a waddle one day... and it was gone when I got home! :( My Grammy and Grammpy's first feathers were in that pillow!

Aussie Words

These were results for an Ozwords comp where entrants were asked to take an Australian word, alter it by only one letter, and supply a new and witty definition.

You'll probably need to be an Aussie to understand!

bludgie
a partner who doesn't work but is kept as a pet.
dodgeridoo
a fake indigenous artifact.
lyrebard
Ern Malley
matesh*t
all your flat mate's belongings lying strewn around the floor.
licky
a day off you get by asking the boss nicely.
barramondi
the sickie taken after Sunday, for the purpose of fishing.
fair drinkum
good quality Aussie wine.
klangaroo
the sound a roo makes when it hits your bull bar.
flatypus
a cat which has been run over by a vehicle.
yabble
the unintelligible language of Australian freshwater crustaceans.
carlton drift
the wayward walk home from the pub
bushwanker
a pretentious drongo who reckons he's above average when it comes to handling himself in the scrub.
shornbag
a sheila with a brazillian wax.

Ha Ha

Yep all true stringer LOL :)

Batman!??

Can I have a licky so I can go billabonk, followed by a fair drinkum and a shornbag and another billabonk. Then I can carleton drift, step over the flatypus, and return to my bludgie, and trip over the matesh*t, and the bushwanker? After all of this, I may need another licky, and a baramondi! :D

Can you get back to me on that....lickety split?

Seeing as how I'm turning 16 I see it as the whole "coming of age yadda yadda yadda" I've wanted to do something intersting for my Birthday. Now I've already talked to my parents and I've having 2 get togethers. 1 just for the family and 1 just for the friends, and the thing is I can't decide what I want to do! I mean I've come up with a bunch of idea's but I ultimialy can't decide on what I want to do.

The way I see it

Family= 2 options, We can have a cookout at my/aunts house, Or I can find a restaurant that I want to go to.

A lot of times, I'd would just go with the cookout. But I wanted to do something different this year so with the restaurant I have to find a place that

A) Is good enough for me and mom (upscaleish, not just fast food) but good enough for my dads family (my grandpa things buffets are the greatest thing in the world, and would eat at Ryans or Golden Corral everyday)

B) Distance, Again Clarksville doesn't really have a lot to offer and I'm afraid that my grandmother wouldn't be able to make the drive to nashville because of her ears.

And with the friends I can't decide whether

A) Doing something cool (Taking on the Vermonster, a Ben and jerries ice cream sundae, 20 scoops of ice cream, 17 scoops toppings, bananas, cookies, whipped cream, etc..

B) Having a house party..

Choices, choices.
I'll brb, I have to go for my run

Alty
Nov 30, 2008, 06:03 PM
House party sounds good for the friend gathering, but it can be a bit overwhelming, especially for mom and dad. ;)

The family gathering, I think you're probably safer with the cookout, that way there's a variety of food, everyone is in a relaxed environment and can sit around and talk. In a restaurant you're seated in one spot and can't talk to everyone.

It's up to you, 16 is a milestone it should be something fun that you'll always remember.

My parents had a surprise party for me on my 16th. They lined up a babysitting job for me, which was a bit funny. The people I babysat for were regulars but out of the blue they call me up, tell me they've decided to go out for a pizza, could I come watch the kids. No problem. I get there and the kids are already eating delivery pizza. I was a bit confused as to why the parents were going out for pizza when they already had some at home.

Turns out they didn't go for pizza at all, they went to my parents house and helped decorate. :)

All my friends were there, it was a complete surprise, didn't see it coming. :)
