Edit: Cancel that, I'm fine now... lol! My dog walker picked up Niki, and she's usually only gone for about half an hr. It was over an hr. and she still wasn't back. She's pregnant, and she's overdue, and she wasn't answering her phone. I was worried that maybe she went into labour or maybe even fell or something. She walks the dogs off leash at the park, so I was worried about Nikster too! But it's okay... I just got a hold of her. She was running late, and forgot she had a dentist appt. so she just took Niki with because she didn't have time to bring her home first... whew!!

Sorry, I am not getting notifications again. Yeah, I was shocked when the girl who walks Niki told me she was past her due date, and she still has no probs walking Niki, along with her two dogs also. The following day as I was scanning through my German II book I noticed Chapter 5 was about food. Me, being curious went through it and saw "Stollen" and I thought it looked kind of interesting. Well I told my mom about it and yesterday she comes home from that place with some Stollen and I was like "GASP". They are done digging... well, as far as I know! It's in the front yard actually. The hole is huge, and probably 12' deep and probably 12' by 12' wide! For the last week, I have all of that dirt piled up in front of my house. I can't even park out there. Today they had a plumbing Co. over there, and woke me up at 7am again. I don't know what they were doing, but it was loud again all day, and they kept knocking things up against the side of my house. Who knows what kind of shape my house is going to be in after this. I can't get past the big hole to see what they've done!

Niki is good. She barks at them all day long... and I LET her! LOL!

Oh, OK. You know what they're doing exactly?? I know what you mean. These similar things happen to me also, when they asphalt the road. More recently, some people came digging on one side of the road, whoever knows why, making terrible noise form 7 am to 5 am. They put their buldozer in front of my house entrance and Dixy barked all day long.

All I can say now is : enjoy your current quiet time! ;)

Oh, and as far as the headache? Nope... still here... like a clothesline... it just likes to hang around! LOL!

Niki has been going on good walks every morning and night now, thanks to a couple of people that offered to take her. I have to pay one of them, but that's OK with me. Niki needs to get out on her walks, and to the park. Right now I have a girl that walks her in the morning. She is pregnant, and overdue, but still insists on taking Nikster! She was laughing yesterday, saying that she takes Niki up a steep hill everyday, but she has to stop and wait for Niki to catch up! Pretty funny, but sad. Poor Nikster needs more exercise!

Yeah, that is why I'm up now! It's quiet for once! They are digging up the sewer pipes Unky. I asked if this would help with my sewer backup too, and they said that it is doubtful! They told me to call the city! Uhhmm, they are working for the city! So this isn't going to be solved anytime soon. They will end up digging up my yard too! I don't know why they don't just dig up the whole street and get it over with! My other neighbours are having problems too!

I was shocked that so much are going this year. I'll try and have an internet access there to be here on xmas and new year, and more often. At home, there's still no connection, sigh...

Well, I wanted to tell everyone that my computer hard drive crashed yesterday. We were able to save all my info; both business and personal-VERY lucky in that sense, I guess. We were able to save it all on a flash drive. So far it has cost me about $200.00 in labor time. We have checked, the computer and external hard drive that I will need is about $1,000.00 plus and other $200.00 to have all my "stuff" downloaded. Looking at just shy of $1,500.00. Nice... just before Christmas huh?

So I won't be on for a while, possibly a week or so... (not that anyone was worried---right? -ha).

Still in bed with this damn flu bug, feeling miserable, sweating and complaining a LOT to Marta. Thank God she is an understanding woman. Could it be that she loves me... yup, think so...

He said he would like me to make an appt. to come in right away, because they ran Niki's bloodwork, and he would like to talk to me! He didn't freakin call until 6pm, and that is when they close! Now they are not open until Monday! Why the hell would he do that to me! Now I have to wait and worry all wkd! I'm scared of what it could be! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! :(

Thank you Rebby my sweet girl! I can't believe that vet did that to me either! You know what though? Stupid me did not get this guys name, and I can't understand his name in the message he left. He's East Indian. I can hardly understand him when I'm there! He is a new guy at the clinic! I wasn't too happy getting him to begin with, but that is who they assigned to me for Niki's check-up.

There are about 10 vets in that clinic. I've been going there for yrs. and they never used to do it that way. But the owner who I had always trusted, sold the clinic, and has semi retired. So he isn't there all of the time anymore. Now I never know who the heck I'm going to get. I'm going to raise a little hell over that. Niki should get the same person every time, so she doesn't get more scared than she already is when I take her there. She's had to go so many times this yr. and it's always a different person! That's not right!

Sorry, got busy on the phone for a few minutes there. Oh Niki never used to hate the vet. But after all of the things she has had to go through this yr?. she freaks out! She threw my back out when I took her in on Monday. They had to have me and two vets to hold her down to do her check-up. She is like a fish out of water! She even snapped at one of the vets, which she never does to anyone!

... and yes... I make matters worse when I get nervous before we go!

Starby, it is the way of the future it seems in all walks of life. We use to work for the same company and retire with a little nest egg, now most work as temps and never build up retirement. We go to a doctor's office only to see a Nurse Practitioner or someone we have never met before. We go to a Vet's, as you say and never know which one your little Niki will see. I don't like it either. It is impersonal and I have a real issue with the loss of the trust of a one on one situation in stores, offices, etc. I will get off my soap box now... they probably changed the look of the outside of the soap box by now also and by the time I jump off it, I will think I hopped up on the wrong one! I know it is marketing... but when I buy Tide Regular, I want the box to look the same and not have to read four sides of the box to make sure it isn't the colorfast or the with bleach or new fragrance. Whew... and I thought I adapted to change rather well... guess not. LOL Anyway, I am sorry you feel no peace about Niki but let's just keep good thoughts that maybe she needs a new regimen with her foods or that sort of thing... good thoughts coming your way from Princess Rebby!!

The girl that walks Niki started it, and asked me to become one of the admins today! So of course I agreed. I'm not sure if I can just send you a link to our group. I am feeling better. My left eye is still closed and will be for another month plus... but at least it is not permanent. However, that little problem is why I fell over the little wooden stool in the den the other evening and caused me to be ill for a week... second visit to chiro was today and he said it was "one nasty spasm" in an area that is almost impossible to settle it down quickly. He made me promise I would not bend at all today. He would not even allow me to pick up my own jacket today. He picked it up and put it on me and told me absolutely no bending forward for anything today or it would set it off again. When I wrote you earlier, I was feeling ill from the treatment... will on into that in e-mail but when muscles break down, they release an amino acid, Argennine (sp) and for me, when it floods my system, I am down again for awhile as you know from the illness that put me in bed for almost a year in 1985... but I have been drinking lots of water and not bending forward at all and it eased off. I should have just called. I was so goofy feeling earlier however that I didn't think I would be good company. Let me know about the letter however and I will do it! Guess I will say goodnight. Ryan had surgery today so need to go there for a few hours tomorrow so C can get out for a few hours. She had an appt. already set up so needs to keep the appt. All I want for Christmas is a clean tidy house, the cooking to be done and the presents bought and wrapped. All I want for Christmas is everything done, so that I can relax this Christmas.

I swear, if I don't have a heart attack from stress before Christmas, it will be a miracle. :(

I just started shopping last week. We buy for over 40 people and that is not counting the number of gifts we get the five grands. I don't buiy a lot through the year so Christmas is extra special time of giving to them so that keeps me busy but happy.

The same for my kids.

I usually try to make a craft plus purchase a gift for the gals on the list but not this year... fell down on the job. But Christmas brings it's own special kind of miracles and joy even without all being done but Alty, I hear you... wish my house was all in tact and food prepared, and gifts wrapped. We will have company for three days here plus others who drop in. Happy Times.

We always have one BIG unwrapped gift from Santa for each of our children, as well as each grand which is five more, then stocking stuffers for each and then the regular gifts then the others that come later. My eye is blurring so not sure this is making sense the way I have typed it and can hardly see the monitor... clear as mud?? LOL
