Hello my name is Jef, I'm doing a remodel of an existing toilet with a sink but adding a shower and a washer. Do I need separate vents for these new additions or can I tap into the existing vent?

Unless you live in California you won't need individual vents. Here's how it should go. Assuming the lavatory's vented the shower drain will connect to the lavatory drain and be wet vented by it. No vent needed here. The washer will have to be trapped and vented, (see image, install the trap as close to the floor line as possible) you will install it in two inch and connect to the toilet drain line and revent back to the lavatory vent using a inverted sanitary tee and giving the revent 1/4" to the foot slope back to the washer. This way you may use the lavatory vent through the roof to vent the entire group and won't have to run any more. More questions? I'm as close as a click. Good luck, Tom

Let's do it the right way: Yes, you will need dedicated vent for shower and washer. However, you can join them in one vent at about 48" above the floor and than this vent can be attached to any existing 2" vent that continues all the way through the roof. In other words, you tie all vents into one, existing vent, below the ceiling. This vent than runs all the way through the roof.
