Hi folks,
Recently moved to a house w/ above washer/dryer in it.
No manual left w/ it.
Operationally OK - but washing machine leaves lint all over clothes.
Anyone know where the ( or if there is a) lint trap in the washer is?
Thanks for any help on this
MK

You will need a manual eventually. Buy them on line at

Thanks tickle-
Unfortunately the manual doesn't have any info on cleaning or troubleshooting their "Magic Clean" self cleaning lint filter. ( Not always so "self cleaning , I guess!)

There is a lint trap in the center of the agitator usually.

Whirlpool says that the Magic Clean filter is under the basket and is self-cleaning and not user serviceable. The wash and rinse water goes through the filter and the lint is supposed to go down the drain. I'm getting lint on my clothes -- most noticeable on the darks. The Whirlpool tech actually said that the dryer should remove all of the lint, but we live in the country and like to dry our clothes on the line to get that nice sun fresh crispness. I'm pretty technically oriented and could take the thing apart and check the filter plate ($14-$17) and see if it's broken but I'd have to buy a new tub ring gasket seal ($40) because removing it ruins the sealing effect. This washer is really old and it is conceivable that the filter is worn out and no longer catches the lint. I think I'll go to a parts store and see what the part is made of and if it looks like it would wear out somehow.

Good luck.
