What kind of opinion are you looking for? My opinion on the idea of you and HC? Or my opinion on "forum flirting"?

Uuh... HC definitely seems wise enough, apparently successful, personally; history appeals to me... uuuh... I don't what else to say.

As far as forum flirting goes... I think alty may be just entertaining herself.

Go for it... you love coffee, she loves coffee... what more do you need?

But if things work out... remember... tacos and pool.

Entertaining myself? Honey, I'm not that bored.;)

I really think that Sneezy and HChicky would get along. They're both such sweeties and I like to see nice people find each other. If I have to give it a little push than so be it.:)

Need I point out that they obviously don't need be to instigate flirting between the two of them. Although I will admit that I put the idea into their heads, they've been doing fine without me since then.

Tacos and pool, hee, hee, don't forget the coffee!

Hee, Hee, you go boy. Never give up, never surrender. Move to Nashville. ;)

You're working with a pro her boys, after all, I met my husband when I was 19 years old, we've been married for 13 years. Oh God, we've been married for 13 years, I've been with him for almost half my life. Why did I do the math? I really am old. I've got to lie down now, an old broad like me really should be getting to bed earlier than this. Where's my tylenol and heating blanket? I'll talk to you all tomorrow, if I can drag my poor old body down the stairs and remember how to use a computer. Sigh.

Sneezy - my coffee this weekend was strong and plentiful... I think I drank half a pound of coffee... crazy, but boy, it was gooooooooood! St. Patty's day? Nope, but I am wearing green, so no pinches! I was actually thinking of Synn's suggestion - bubble bath, glass of wine, and a good book.

I didn't check the calendar. All I know is that my kids had to wear green to school today or risk being pinched.

I had to drive the kids to school, we missed the bus (my bad) and I wasn't wearing green. One of the little boys in my daughters kindergarten class came up and pinched me, he's lucky that I had a cup of coffee before he did that, otherwise he might have ended up learning how to fly. I hate it when the kids miss the bus. UGH, driving in the morning sucks. I have to go through 3 school zones before getting to my kids school, going 30km/hour isn't my style. I'm grumpy.

Time for another cup of java. Where are the girls? HC, Starty, Synnen, where are you? Not that you aren't good company Sneezy, you're Great!

Yes, I am a writer. Long story short, my company relocated from Tampa Bay. When they relocated they lost 75% of the staff. The 15 man editorial/curriculum development department was reduced to lil' ol' me. Sooo... I am the go-to-girl for anything print. New ad campaigns, internet FAQs, curriculum reprints, initial curriculum development, articles for print, magazine ads, legal junk, presidential speeches, you name it, I write it.

This was a marketing meeting... a marketing meeting that I walked out of with three more projects on TOP of my original 7.

Okay, off topic. I usually do a crossword puzzle with my morning coffee, after dropping the kids off at the bus stop. I didn't get to it today and decided to take a glance. I'm sleepy and the brain isn't working at full speed today so I need some help. Keep in mind that I never look up the answers and I refuse to look on the internet for the answers too. So I'm asking my coffee buds.

Clue: Hindu priestly caste. Answer: _ ra_ _ _ n
Clue: Window on a corbel. Answer: U _ I _ l (urial?)

Well, a flambeau is a torch. And I can't come up with anything in my brain that works with that ST in the beginning.

Alty
Mar 17, 2008, 03:58 PM
The St starting the word for relative of a flambeau comes from.

Risers (last letter starts the flambeau) clue: Staircase elements
Atkinson. Clue: Rowan a.k.a. Mr. Bean

Risers works with other things so I'm pretty sure it's right, so does Atkinson, but I'm open to suggestions.

How about Stick, for Relative of a flambeau?

Love Karasea, it works. Also, Anat works because of Vassals.

Is any of this making sense?

I'm loving the e-crossword puzzle, Alty. What a great idea! Sadly, I can't help you with any more... I'm good with words, but have a mental block when it comes to crossword puzzles! Sudoku I can do. Crosswords leave me feeling dreadfully inadequate!

Hey M! Nope. Was waiting for an email and am in my apartment community Business Center... got to love a clubhouse with a cappuccino machine! :D

I have access to a computer with internet, just not in my apt. Sadly, I have to share this with pimply teenagers (the same teenagers who created the need for a blocking service!), middleage YouTube surfers, and us Puritans that don't have connections in our apartments!

So far, I'm the only one up here, but that may change in a few minutes!

Hey HChicky, I didn't expect to talk to you again today, what a pleasant surprise. I love sudoku as well, but I find that the crosswords keep my brain from going to mush. After all, I'm a stay at home mom, the only mental stimulation I get is talking to a 9 and 5 year old, oh and my husband who can't spell and has trouble remembering my name (kidding).

You're such a sweetie. Hey, how are the plans for the coffee, coffee, coffee, barbecue coming along? I'm picking up dog poo everyday, the yard should be ready my June, July at the latest. Summer in Canada is actually pretty nice. You all coming here for a visit? How about you F4U, can you make it?

I'll supply the burgers, the rest can be pot luck. I'll buy some sudoku puzzles and we can watch my dogs beat up Sneezy's dog. Fun and entertainment for all.

Hey Synnen, if you want to borrow my kids when you come for the barbecue let me know, I'd love to go out with my hubby, we haven't gone out alone together in, my god, I can't remember how long it's been. That means it's to long. Sigh.

Mar 17, 2008, 04:52 PM
You are definitely invited, as for controlling the barbecue, you'll have to fight hubby over that one, it's a man thing. Me make fire, me kill dinner, me cook dinner, UG!

I have to renew my passport as well, unfortunately it isn't that easy for me. I live in Canada but I'm a German citizen, that means I have to go to the German consulate, the nearest one is 1 1/2 hour flight away and after that I get to wait for up to 6 months for the passport to appear. Thank goodness I only have to do it every 10 years.

It's easy in Canada if you're a citizen, but I have landed immigrant status, not citizenship. I still need to get a german passport in order to travel, I also have to have my landed immigrant papers. It's a big mess. You'd think that having lived in Canada for the last 34 years I'd be a citizen by now. Just can't see myself forking over $300.00 to take a test that 89% of Canadians can't even pass. No thanks, I'd rather spend that money on coffee.

HChicky, where are you, did you have dinner with Sneezy?

Bom chicka wow wowww, tee hee hee. My 9 year old always says that. Scary.

Hey guys, my son asked me a question about sex at dinner, he wanted to know how old people were before they started having sex, I really wanted to say 50.

I took the opportunity to talk about condoms, why people use them and that they prevent pregnancy and disease. I gave him the 9 year old version (men have seeds, women have eggs, the condom is like a balloon that goes over your penis to stop the seeds from getting to the egg) after I said this he said, very nonchalantly "I'm going to need some of those condom thingys." The soup came out of my nose, I started choking, is he trying to give me a heart attack? I asked him why he needs some, he said, "For when I'm a teenager." Honestly I'm moving to the woods, no one around for miles, no television, a padlock on the door and a chastity belt for my daughter. Yikes, I need aspirin.

Hey Sneezy are you coming to the barbecue? What kind of dog do you have, if it's small then my dogs can chew on, I mean play with your dog. I'm shooting for June or July. Before you ask, My hubby has dibs on working the barbecue, don't make the poor guy relinquish the barbecue, he's already losing his hair, the barbecue would push him over the edge. Your hubby can take the bbq all he wants. Less work I do for my food, better off I am.

If you truly aren't happy then you still have time to make different choices. You only have one life to live, one chance, if you have a dream than go for it, no one else is going to do it for you. Good God do I ever sound old. Sit down son I'm going to give you some motherly advice.

I'm not saying I haven't made mistakes, there are things that I wish I could take back, but they've all lead me here, delete one thing and I'd be somewhere entirely different. I've made mistakes, but I've learned from them, thankfully none of the mistakes were deadly, I got lucky, not everyone can say that.

Ah Sneezy, you'll be fine. Like you said, only 7 weeks left and then you can start med school. I read somewhere that people compare you to Dr. House, I love that show, hope you aren't taking vicodin though, nasty drug to get into. :)

Well, I have once again opened mouth and inserted foot on another post (told you I was flexible) this time it was the Teen Sex post, I just may have undone everything I've been trying to do concerning teens and sex. People often compare me to dr. house as I am sarcastic + dry... and make fun of everyone.

In addition to working in research, I also work for the medical examiner (morgue)... and the general consensus of me working with dead people is:

- I can see you doing that...
- yeah... out of my friends, if ONE person worked in the morgue... it'd be you

Alty
Mar 17, 2008, 10:44 PM
I see dead people?

Yikes, I have no desire to work in a morgue, but then again, I have no desire to be a surgeon either. When my Dad was sick I had to give him daily injections of Vitamin K, every time he saw me coming with the needle he winced. I'm not cut out for that kind of work.

I'm a bit squeamish, not when it comes to my kids, but other people yup. I can handle just about anything when it comes to my own body, except with regards to my eyes, just don't touch my eyes and we'll be fine. Yuck.

Sneezy sweetie, I'm going to hit the sack, I've got a long day tomorrow and it's going to start early. I need at least 7 hours and a full pot of coffee in order to function, another reason not to be a doctor.

Dear, Darling Alty... the one thing I've learned through life is that the past is just that, past. Our past doesn't define us, it has made us who we are... the strength of character, height of resolve, dedication to verity all come from the circumstances and heartaches that we have been through. It doesn't matter what you've been or done, we know you as you. A true, caring, thoughtful, sweet, amazing woman with a heart full of compassion and truth.

And nothing, absolutely nothing will change that. You will always be that person in our eyes. If nothing else, whatever you post from your past, it will make us respect you more from what you've come through.

My dear, sweet Alty, we will still be here after you click Post.

What is the blend of the day? I'm having 7 eleven brand coffee, it's better than you think. Scones, Mmmm, I'd prefer donuts though.

By the way, sorry for putting a damper on the coffee hour. I can't begin to put into words the gratitude I feel for all your kind words.

HChicky, that offer goes both ways. My home is always open dear sweet friend. Thanks, I don't know what else to say, just, thanks.

Back to the coffee. I'm on my 3rd cup and counting. I think it's a two pot kind of day.

Pshaww... You didn't dampen coffee hour... You necessitated the need for an all day party at the coffeeshop! I needed a day off anyway... crazy customers. Sheesh. I much prefer kicking my heels up, supplying you with coffee, and concocting yummy concoctions! :D

Blend of the day is Blueberry Patch... goes amazingly well with the Blueberry Scones...

Mar 18, 2008, 08:42 AM
Yup, me too. My version of the pshaww came out kind of funny though, Canadian accent. Hee, hee.

Did you say blueberry? I love blueberries. My parents and I went camping every weekend from the time I was 4 until I was in my late teens. The place we went to had tons of blueberries. We'd pick them every year. We all got an empty ice cream bucket and were sent off to fill it. Somehow mine never got full, my blueberry picking went something like this. One for the bucket, 10 for Alty, one for the bucket, 20 for Alty, mom, I don't feel so good. My mom and dad always brought in allot, they had more self restraint than I did.

HistorianChick
Mar 18, 2008, 08:44 AM
LOL! Oh yeah... I remember blueberry picking at my grandparents place! Mmm... Maine blueberries... divine...

My "picking" was less pretentious. I went into the patch KNOWING full well that I wasn't bringing any home! That was Mom's job. :) I was there to eat!

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters - Fair Trade, Organic & Signature Coffees & Gifts (http://www.greenmountaincoffee.com) is where I get my blueberry coffee... Its really yummy. Not sure if Synn's place has blueberry, but I'd try theirs as well! :)

Alty, I really think you need to know how hard it is to get through things like this and you also need to know that stories like yours and others can be very good. Thanks Starty. I thought I could handle it, I'm not doing so good with that. I've never been big on opening up, at least not everything. I hope that someone else finds courage from what I posted, but my intentions were not as noble as that, I had to get rid of this, I had to let it out. If it does help someone else then that's wonderful, if they see themselves in me, I don't know if that's wonderful, the thought that someone else can feel this way is unbearable, I wouldn't wish it on anyone, yet I know I'm not the only one, and I'm one of the lucky ones as well. Just feeling scared today, shaky and weepy. Don't worry though, with all of you behind me I will be okay. I can still laugh, and smile and play the accordion (is that a good thing?)
