Okay so two nights ago I died my friends hair and it camee out really nice. Me and her both had around the same natural hair color, I died my hair the same color, but instead of coming out a medium brown it came out burgandy, reddish. I hate it on my skinn tone and want to go back to my natural color. I used the tide twice, but it didn't work. And I don't want to dye my hair again or get rid of all the color I just want to make it fade A lot!! :(

I did the same thing to my hair, I had dark brown hair and tried to die it medium brown and it came out dark red. So I read upon all these responses and tried the tide, it didn't work then I came across the dawn idea. I looked through my cabnits but I didn't have any dawn only Ajax. So I mixed the ajax dish soap w/ the tide in the tide cap (I filled it to the top) and put the same amount of shampoo that I would normally use but instead I used the mixture and scrubbed it in then rinsed it out with the hottest water I could stand. Then my hair was as dry as straw so I used the brunette expressions conditioner. It rehidrated my hair back to normall, then I repeated until the cap was empty. I got out and let my hair air dry and it was back to its normal color! :D

If your too-dark hair dye is permanent, it can sometimes be faded by washing with a clarifying shampoo. Use one that is designed to remove product build-up or chlorine build-up from swimmer's hair. These shampoos remove anything coating the hair shaft, including excess pigment or you can Try L'Oreal's Color Zap the kit works after one application removing dye from your hair while leaving your natural hair color intact and ready to re-color it even works on permanent hair dye.
