Recipients have difficulty opening photo attachments or say they take whole page or 2 pages. My OS is Windows SE, 500Mhz, 191Mb Ram, 14 GB available hard drive, have comcast cable and Outlook Express 6.0 Isave photos as jpg files, either scanning in or using card reader for my memory card from my digital camera.
I have no problem printing them in any size I want, cropping, etc. via my programs. My files show photos run between 300-400 Kb to 700 Kb.
... Is there something I should be doing so recipients can get photos in size I send and change size according to there desires??

I would find out what program your recipients are opening the jpegs. I always open mine with IE, and IE 6.x has a setting built in that it will resize the photo for you so that it all fits in one screen. File size doesn't seem to be that much, although it does depend on their connection and computer speed.

When I right click on the picture in Explorer and select send to and then select mail recipient, it offers to make the picture smaller. I don't know if another program added that to Explorer though.

There is a free program (very basic but for $10 you can get a better version) at http://www.showyourphotos.com/photoresizer_free.html called Photo Resizer. Using the program you open your pic, click on resize (with a few options though the default is fine) and then you can save or email the smaller version. You can do this for one or several photos, adding it to the email as you go on.

A good reason to resize is not only so the pic fits on the email or screen nicely, but also it is a smaller file to email and easier for a dial-up user to download.
