I am attempting to stop a leaky hot water faucet model 48-DC00. I have taken the handle off and removed the valve assembly. Now what? There is a small O-ring that apears to be OK but the ceramic, (or plastic) part in the middle does not look good. Maybe there is no alternative but to purchase a new valve assembly.

Thanks for your thoughts.

The O ring usually shrinks a tad. This is where the leak is being caused from. Try changing that out before you purchase a new valve assembly. Just because it "looks" okay does not mean it hasn't shrunken down a tad.

Price fister is so cheap though save the aggrevation by just replaceing it I could understand id it was a premium grade fixture wanting to fix it .
